You can’t imagine how much I enjoyed watching this, because I disassembled my K10 just about an hour ago in an attempt to better clean out heavy mineral deposits. My wife had run vinegar through it at least 20 times and the stuff just kept coming. So I figured “Why not?” Once getting to all the tubing, valves, and connections I finally decided I would never be able to clean it enough to drink any coffee from it. Then I thought maybe someone on RU-vid could do it. Found your video and had a good laugh watching it. I’m not even gonna try to put mine back together. Tomorrow I would buy a new Keurig, but the K10 is no longer available and I don’t see any I like. Oh well.....

Yeah I just took the top off my to try to unclog the hose but my clog is further down and won't be able to take of the white plastic part without taking it completely apart. Mine was a gift so I'm really sad I have to buy a replacement lol

I have one of these, we'll two actually. One doesn't work at all and the other one had a broken piece. Thanks to your video I was able to take them both apart and swap the appropriate pieces without applying too much force on vulnerable areas. It works great now. Thanks for posting this.

You do not need a screwdriver to remove the K-cup holder 1:41. Press on the outlet from under the cup holder and it will pop right out. The manufacturer's instructions which come with the unit states this. The grease 3:17 and 4:10 is heat sink grease and you should NOT wipe it off unless you have heat sink grease to replace it.

Hey, thanks for this. I was doing the same thing (autopsy) and got stuck on the bottom panel the same as you did, so I came hunting for a clue. Commenters are way too harsh; it’s pretty obvious you weren’t going to put it back together. “Oh look at that!” “What happens then?” “Ehh I’m just gonna break these...” were not even my first clues. Anyway, I was very entertained! Good commentary.

Thanks for the sacrifice! I looked this up because mine stopped pumping water. I figured it was a stuck valve somewhere under the tank because there was nothing coming out the top. I started to take it apart, and then found this video. I learned that this things are not meant to come apart easily. I didn’t want to damage it, so I decided to pull a vacuum usin a large syringe on the hose from the top. I heard a pop them water started coming up. Works now.

Unfortunately this did not help me in my own current ongoing surgery of a keurig machine, but I immensely enjoyed watching it nonetheless. lol. I am trying to find the piezo (or is it a different type of buzzer? maybe? idk) element so I can smash the d--- thing while preserving the closed circuit of course, thus forever silencing its egregious protests (beeps). Where's the sound element??? dang this is taking me like all day haha

I have the same model and it doesn't shut off at the end of the cycle. I'm guessing it's a float switch issue. Unlike the detractors, I think this is a good video that shows how to take it apart, just like the title says. Also, if you watch in 2x speed it's quite entertaining, plus saves some time.

Mr.The Fixer I'm in a battle as we speak with a model K 200.Its similar to the one you fought.Did everything like you have but stoped short of breaking it.I'm going back in now and look for the two screws that where screwing you at the top. Thank you for this video sir. I needed to clean the inside of the seal on the water tank. I took those first 2 panels off the bottom and realized I might be doing this wrong. Your video helped me get the top open to deep clean this thing.

Thank you for posting this video, much appreciated. Although you did not perform a systematic disassembly, at least the detailed views of the product internals were useful in showing where the parts and wiring were in reference to one another. Granted, it is not a simple process, but it can be done without parts damage if one takes their time. I took mine completely apart to check the water heater coil function, as the unit was not providing hot enough coffee. For those brave enough to take on this task, the outer casing comes off easily by removing the visible screws and just sliding it downward and out.

I have no problem jumping in to electronics repair.. But I did this just for cleaning. after having a long talk with myself, I decided that there was no way I was going to put it back together. It went in to the trash

Thanks for this video! Gotta admit that some parts were hilarious but also extremely informative. Showed me how to remove the top piece to reveal the hose feeding the dispensing needle. I had already removed the two screws but was hesitant applying force to snap the top piece free. After that I was able to push through a flexible wire/pipe cleaner to free up the clog. As good as new!

Not sure where it said “fix”. To me, the title is classified correctly. And, reading most of the responses, helped. Unfortunately, my K10 went down only recently, hence the late response to the video. Thank you, you saved me $100. Just need you show us how to take apart RU-vid. I love this! This is typical of Keurig, all the way back to their first debut machine. They have always been impossible. I'm glad you posted this. It actually was very helpful. Mine seems to have a pump stuck. The needle isn't clogged. But now I know not to take it apart. This is one of the most entertaining videos I've ever seen, being that I repair stuff all the time. I'm actually going to try cutting a hole in the cabinet of mine with a Dremel. At least your video showed me where all the stuff is inside. Maybe I'll post mine, whether it's do or die.

Dont wipe the grease off. That looks like a transister attached to a heat sink. The grease allows it to transfer the heat to the sink and be disapated.

Moved into a new apartment with a bug problem and woke up to a nasty surprise in my cup of coffee. Unfortunately I don't think I'd be able to get it open enough to actually be confident in it being clean enough to move forward here. Guess I'll finally need to pony up and get a new coffee maker.

Bravo! It was like rooting for a sports team. Great persistence, patience and mechanical instincts you showed. Glad you would do this for fun, so now I don't have to endure the frustration I would have encountered trying to figure out how the inside of the coffee maker was structured. There is a buildup of black mold I assume in mine, and now I know there is no way I want to take it apart to try to clean it. I will have to fix the problem by running vinegar and maybe other cleaning or sterilizing chemicals through it from the outside. Thank you so much.

My thoughts are you were paid by Keurig to produce this video. NO ONE in their right mind would attempt to fix one after watching your video. On the other hand, I printed out a tutorial from IFixit and am awaiting a new pump. The rest of the unit is sitting there with just two wires sticking out to solder on the new pump. $15 for a pump, $200 for a new coffee maker. Had to try.

There is no way Keurig would pay me for this video haha. I did not fix anything. As the title says, I just disassembled it. This was many years ago when I was trying out new video ideas. I enjoy taking stuff apart and thought it might help someone to see how it is built. 😃😃

they are obviously designed to be put together easily. Taking apart is another story entirely. I will use this to get into mine that is not working at all.

Thanks so much, dude. I was considering buying a replacement brewer of a non-desired color (as the only yellow was > $500!) and swapping out the casing. You're clearly experienced at how much to bend plastic. After watching your video, I will NOT try to replace a casing--hard enough to get it apart, and it's too much to try to get one back together.

I have one of these, just like yours but in red. It leaks from the spout while brewing not sure why. That small motor with the hose on it is a mini air compressor.

Just so you know, that K-cup holder thing pops right out if you push it up gently from the bottom, where the coffee comes out from. No need to squeeze & pull or use a screw driver.

Oh wow...gotta love reverse engineering! I have a K10 and that baby is pretty strong....never given me a minute of trouble. I know some people have had a little trouble with that model and don't like it as much as I do.

Why does it take so long to break stuff? With practice you should be able to break every part in that impressive brewer in under 15 minutes. Just messing with you! I like to autopsy small appliances and automobile components myself.

This guy clearly doesn't know what he is doing. It's one thing to take apart for curiosity, but anybody can use a power tool to take apart an object! A true craftsman uses fines and hand tools to disassemble in order to reassemble said device... This mad man is using a power tool on the highest setting to obliterate the threads and caveman-like qualities to bludgeon it to death. RIP coffee maker...

I thought you knew what you were doing but it was obvious you didn't have a clue about how to take this apart. But you did have tearing it apart down pat. Anyone can force or break something apart but knowing how to disassemble something without damaging it so you can fix what's wrong and then reassemble it takes someone who knows what they are doing and not some idiot that prys with a screw driver until it gives or breaks. This was a totally worthless waste of time.
