I've been in this hobby for 3 weeks and have already acquired 4 nitro rcs, 2- hpi mt2s and 2 redcat s30s and watching all your videos have been a big help! Straight to the point and straightforward. I already took my 1st engine apart and cleaned it thanks to your videos! Thank you
Great video! Your videos always have great knowledge in them for people that are just getting into nitro or people that are picking the nitro scene back up. So far the best nitro channel on youtube that I've seen.
@@thebug4046 you and the group have helped me so much on getting back into the nitro scene the last time a ran a nitro / worked on one was when i was 6 I'm 18 now so its been a while since I've messed with them
@@crazytay0580 well I'm glad we can all help you out man but it's like I didn't keep at it it takes a little bit of practice but once you get the hang of it it's all smiles from there keep on burning Nitro!!
@@thebug4046 thats one of the reasons im getting back into nitro its a bit of a challenge compared to all my electric cars, the other reason are the smiles you get with the sound and the smell of burning nitro
Again great tips. No one should fear opening up their engine after watching this. Not a difficult process but if you have never done it before it can be daunting. Great video Thanks.
No problem and you have people get afraid because they think these engines are very exotic and they're not they're just a basic 2-stroke engine and people seem to forget that we're not know
Great vid. Question if I may, will an SH 25 piston and sleeve fit an XTM 247. Getting hold of any in the U.K. is impossible, but I can get an SH 25 piston and sleeve for $55 from CA shipped to U.K. I really want to give my 247 it’s second wind but it’s got zero pinch now and scored piston.
Hey man, nice vid, could you help me with my O.S. 12CV ? The crankshaft won’t come out of the crankcase when I push from the front, yes the connecting rod, piston, and sleeve assembly are off, and yes the backplate is off lol. I have tried some oil on the front but the crank just won’t come out.
Thanks man and I don't use any kind of sealant because these engines are sealed by o rings it's kind of pointless if you haven't really old engine that uses a paper gasket in the back plate and there isn't deep scratches in the metal yeah I might use a tiny bit but pretty much never
Going through ur videos and it’s interesting to note the distinction drawn between after run and transmission oil. I’ve always been told auto trans fluid is perfect as a substitute. Not so? Maybe a case of someone getting it wrong or a nitro RC urban legend? Maybe the topic of another video? Would love an explanation. Great work mate 😀
Couple questions, when you remove a pull starter, is it normal to have dirt/oil to build up around the starter shaft area? I had to remove my pull starter as it gave out on me, I also think I have air leak somewhere, I tried to start my engine and it started to rev up very high. My idle gap was set at 1mm and It wasn't lean because it had a lot of smoke, Ive ran the engine through 1 gallon. It's taken lots of abuse because it's still the first engine I have
So basically what that means is if you see excessive amounts of oil and fuel around the front or rear of the engine there is 2 things going on here which is accessibly rich tuning using too much after an oil if the engine is too incorrectly you will not see this if the starter bushing which is made of brass like material is worn out you will see a lot of oil around the pool starter
@@thebug4046 Yeah, I'm trying to get better at tuning, I just need to practice tuning more. Unfortunately I wanted to check inside the engine and the results weren't good, the crank pin broke off when I opened it (it just fell out) and the crankshaft was rusty. I decided to get a new engine as they aren't too expensive and I know a lot more about these engines then when I had the car about 3 years ago
@@nitroluver4l591 dam that sucks. Usually the cause of a broken crank pin is when you have people using an electric start or a drill and they force the engine to start when it's flooded. But in time you will get better. With dynamite 19 it's crucial to make sure the exhaust is sealed or it won't tune worth a shit. Also a quality fuel makes a big difference
I think once spring hits im going to give nitro a try. I will more than likely get the losi 8ight. My local hobby store only carries traxxas nitro and blue thunder sport. Do you think the blue thunder would be ok? I can always ask if they can get anything else but the problem comes with not a lot of people buy nitro. and they might have to order a case so it will be sitting therefor awhile and more than likely not sell. They only stock the traxxas nitros vehicles so i Have to order my car and wait for it to come. Im on the fb group im hoping I can find someone local to teach me everything i need to know so I can stay in the hobby versus being discouraged.
I have never heard the blue thunder sport before Im not a huge Traxxas fan the losi is awesome also avoid Traxxas fuel at tunes like and it runs very hot run with 30% nitro 8% oil you can also join Nitro RC enthusiasts on Facebook
@@thebug4046 im on group i having hard time finding someone to teach me nitro local. Blue thunder has a vp logo on it now so just curious only thing i can get. I really want to try nitro just want to try to get best experience instead of getting frustrated and staying with electric.
I've just been given a thunder tiger eb4 s3 the original engine is the thunder tiger pro 28 nitro engine what engine do you think would be best i don't want to smash the diffs great video keep them up
Could be to rich could be a lot of things what I can suggest is join the nitro RC enthusiasts group on Facebook I'm in there I am an admin it's the best Nitro group on Facebook
Is the new .28 a better engine what’s the latest and greatest from dynamite what’s the best bang for your buck most power something that possibly would drop into like a tea max with an easy start thanks bug u the man😎💪
except the 28 rtr the dynamite big red is just an SH 28 P6 only thing that changed is the look of it in the last 20 years because they are reliable and good quality engines. The 28RTR is just a force 28R dressed up as a dynamite product same as the HPI F4.6 good engine for the money
@@lukebrozny7722 That's usually what I do if necessary is bring the engine with me to the hardware store and try different screws until I get the ones that fit properly and then I just cut or file them to length
hello sir. can i use 1/8 engine on 1/10 car? cos my nitro car engine jammed. its hard in my place to find my engine. need to buy online. can u help me. i see in picture the engine and all the parts are same with my engine. need to ask a person who know better bfore i buy.
1/8 engines are twice the size they will not work without modification and the crankshaft is often different same with the exhaust just order the correct engine on eBay
@@thebug4046 thx for letting me know. i have pic to show u but how i can send it? do u have email? maybe u can see it can fit or not in my car. i see the flywheel almost same
@@akmaltitan8497 The group is called nitro/diesel/gas RC and more you will see me post up My picture will be a guy wearing sunglasses smoking a joint feel free to post pictures ask questions or post a video of need be
@@TheNitroAddiction also bel-ray motocross air filter oil is cheap and way better then rc car air filter oil. About 10$ for 1L bottles on Amazon. Will last for years.
