Based on experience, it isn't worth the effort unless you are a frequent traveler in/out of SG where you buy the ticker 6-months in advance daily, you will still jam your way to the train checkpoint with all the lorries going to the checkpoint, not to mention that 30+min wait at the checkpoint. I find it alot easier to just take 170x from Kranji early in the morning into JB, and whichever SG Bus back to SG. The best thing about this setup is there are quite a number of SG buses operating 950 160 170 170x (SMRT/SBS doesnt matter), and you can continue to ride from whichever number.
Actually you need to arrive 30-mins before already. I booked a 8.30am train few months back. When I reached at 8.05am / CIQ thinking I could head in, they said we need to enter in 30mins or earlier.

no I rather take bus 950 and 170,.it is cheaper considering the transfer I made from my home by taking mrt, one way back from JB is 5myr compared to 17.70 the other way in
When you take train from SG to JB, is it "manual" or e-gate custom? Scare sometime we can't get a train from JB to SG and we need to join the normal manual counter. And sometime the manual queue is VERY LONG.

If it is cheaper to get the return ticket from JB-SG-SG-JB compared to one-way ticket from SG-JB, wouldn't it make sense to buy the return ticket and don't use the JB-SG portion?
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting going to JB they told us we needed to be there one hour before the train ride! And that it was a 10 min walk from the immigration area! Then coming back to SG we followed the signs to woodlands and we ended up in the wrong area and the immigration officer said we were at the wrong area again! So we had no choice but to take the bus 😭😭😭
Krazy Koala, Kelvin and hopefully this Russian becomes sg new citizens so that we can all influence voters to vote status quo 😅. Foreigners can help reach out to likeminded foreigners to be new citizens. Krazy koal recently joined volunteer soldier and Kelvin is now citizen. If we have more abd more new citizens pro sg govt, we can have political stability and not worry about Change in sg. New citizen population growth can easily replace the few opposition votes. Eventually i hope we can abolish elections and be as stable as china via a new model of "democracy"😅
