A lot of enjoyment from a cigar is tasting the flavors. I don't claim to be a professional, but I have picked up a few tips and tricks. Taste the La Madrina from Dapper Cigar with me and learn the subtle nuances.

My tip for learning to retrohale. Is treat it like you’re diving to the bottom of a pool. You’re holding your breath, then as you are ascending from the bottom of the pool you simply exhale through your nose. I grew up with a pool so perhaps that’s a niche concept, but that’s what helped me figure it out.

Great tips. I'm finally getting to get notes on cigars and working on my pallet. The one good thing from coming from having Covid was it did a reset on my pallet and since I had to break from cigar smoking when I had Covid, lighting up and smoking a cigar brought out more of the tasting notes.

Great tips. Whenever I smoke a cigar I typically only get one noticeable flavor until I get more flavors and depth on the retrohale

I would love to have a pallet for cigars as they all taste the same to me. I mean I can identify sweetness but like wood, pepper, stuff like that, I can't figure those things out on my tongue.

I’m the same. They either stick to the back of my throat or they don’t. Thats the main difference for me.

I'm wrestling with this right now. I bought my first premium cigar and it was so amazing, so creamy. But since that first time I've not been able to get the creaminess from the same cigar.

Hey man, I would maybe try a few other brands of the similar blend. Sometimes also, if one is more humidified than the other the flavor can change a little?

What was your first premium cigar ? I been trying to work on picking up the taste of cigars and the aromas also and trying to decide what would be a good one . Mine have been $10 down to $2 and honestly I have got more from the cheaper ones then the higher costing ones but would try a $20 if it is honestly worth it .

Hello, what cigars would you recomend for citrus taste and Wood taste

Hey There! I would say for citrus it's a little hard-pressed. I would mention something like Casa Cuevas Reserva Natural because it is creamy with a hint of citrus on the back end. I would also say el borracho because it has a musty citrus note. On wood, I would say our Iron Horse Corojo which is cedar heavy, El Gueguense by Foundation, or something from Gran Habano
