In this video, I teach you an easy training method for getting any horse to lay down! It took me less than a month to train my horse to lay down using these methods, but you can do it faster depending on the consistency of your training.
Hi there! 👋 I'm Carmella. I’ve been obsessed with horses for as long as I can remember, and I make videos about all things horse training, horseback riding, and living an equestrian lifestyle. New videos are uploaded EVERY WEEK so subscribe now for more horse videos.

The easies way to do it takes like 5 minutes the first time, you just grab a front leg and the mane and pull them back at the same time, if your horse trusts you he will lay down and each time you do it it takes less time

What I like about you with horses is you know what the horse does naturally and why. So tricks are broken down into movements that the horse does naturally. You give the horse time to understand and most important give the horse a “rest” period 😊

This is a brilliant teaching video where I started on my 4 yr old, within 15 to 20 minutes he was happy picking up all four feet on command with small treat rewards. So now he gets his chill time in the field for the day. Always baby steps 🧡

Thankful that RU-vid suggested your channel to me today- good to find your channel...im always happy to see different trainers approaches. I am a lifelong (50+ years) horse person, I ride English/Hunter jumper, dressage ( but I don’t discriminate, good training is good training. Warwick Schiller is one of my faves) I’m obsessed with the Mustang training programs too, With a number of excellent trainers there too. I wanted to say also that I think Tucker is really lovely! I love how he is put together- his neck and shoulder, nice conformation...temperament and color too? Winner winner, chicken dinner Glad to find you! Thanks for sharing your passion for positive training- mbz

I subscribed and hit the bell. I am just now realizing the things I have been doing with horses is basically liberty work. I thought I was just playing with horses but ppl say it’s a gift to approach a horse I never met and that horse will do anything I ask with no rope. I don’t own a horse but have access to a bunch of them. Recently someone asked me to work with his dads horse as he has fallen I’ll and can’t handle the lead rope. I declined because I’m no trainer or anything. I just really enjoy horses. He assured me he has been watching me with the horses and needs his dads horse to respond the same. So when I went to work with her, ppl were filming it and advised I should look into making a living of this. So here I am reading, watching and learning everything I can. I have just watched a few of your videos and want to say thank you for sharing. It means a lot to those looking to work with horses for a living. Any advice you may have or anyone reading this, I ask you to please share. That kind you all and God bless

After watching several of your videos recently, I just subscribed today, Carmella. Liked how you got Tucker to follow your intentions and instructions and lay down with the lunge crop and not the ropes as other channels use. My dad raised Appys and had one that looked like Tucker but with more spotting on the rump. The price ranges for vet bills, farriers, hay, pellets and tack was very helpful. Like you, I go for used tack as it's broken in and more affordable. The happy rose on your left arm is the beauteous emblem for your southernism, "You all." Thanks for a wonderful video and glad to have found it.

I have worked with him on the ground since I bought him as a foal, but I believe in letting horses become fully developed before breaking him to ride. He is the smartest horse I have ever met. I think your method of teaching how to lay down may resonate with him.
