You can also look at the model number, which can be found on the sticker in the battery compartment. The controller at 1:16 is the model 1537 or 1697, and does not use the Bluetooth "Standard". The controller shown at 1:59 is the model 1708, and uses the Bluetooth "standard" to communicate with other devices such as PC and some smart phones. Note: The model 1537 or 1697 can communicate to a windows PC via the use of the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 .
Bro you are the real MVP, i was so confused i was trying to connect this controller with my phone or pc or tv, I wasn’t able to, but are you sure will it be connected with wireless adapter?
Thank you very much. I was about to buy the 8bitdo Adapter too but wasn't sure if it has bluetooth or not. I bought the Xbox One controller for my PC and wanted to use it on my Switch now. This is the only video on this toppic. Even tho it's old, maybe putting 8bitdo in the title will help other people too.
Dunno why Microsoft makes this harder than detecting the sex of a cat. Why does Microsoft make it so mysterious to figure out which is which? Can't they make it more obvious somehow with a sticker or symbol on the back?
For the cat, the male model will have two fuzzy nuts installed in the very back. Sometimes, they have been modified for better behavior, and this can make it more difficult to tell without closer observation. For the Xbox controller, open the battery compartment and look at the sticker under the batteries. If it is a model 1708 it uses Bluetooth standard. If it is model 1537 or 1697, they will not be Bluetooth standard.
That freakin sucks! I’ve always wanted one or a scuf... but I had no idea the elite didn’t come with Bluetooth, that’s such a deal breaker for me! Thanks for checking out my video though, I really appreciate it!
Thank you verry much! I have trying to connect my xbox Controlller and didn´t found a reason why it doesn´t worked, now I know it and I have to buy a new one
Glad I could help ya out man! People with controllers got an advantage on cod mobile haha, but still not as bad as those punks who play cod mobile from a PC >.
Whay I learned: 1. My controllers are older than I thought 2. None of my controllers don't have Bluetooth. I'm sad that I wasted so long trying to figure our why my controller wasn't working.
Thanks for the info! Hopefully others will see this... especially the ones that don't like to watch videos and just jump straight to the comment section for answers 🤣
I'm bummed out to find out I packed the wrong controller for my vacation. I thought all xbox one/series controller was Bluetooth and I happened to pack my only non Bluetooth controller 😂
in the controller that i use the xbox button is connected to the bumpers but it still doesent work with bluetooth i saw the sticker of the date that it was purchased and it was in november 2016, so it probably means that the controller is not supported by bluetooth
Xbox button connected to main housing (model 1708) is Bluetooth "Sandard". Xbox button on bumper housing is either model 1537 or 1697, and is not Bluetooth "standard"
Lol yeah that button is a pain... I know it’s used for wirelessly pairing controllers to a Xbox, but it’s so much quicker to just grab a micro usb cable and plug the controller in to pair.
Nah it's not a Bluetooth it's a button to connect to only Xbox devices which I thought it was the Bluetooth button at first but I was like wait a min... If this button was Bluetooth it would mean every controller is indeed bluetooth
So I have the model 1537 and 1708 sitting side by side and they feel "almost" identical. The shell (main casing) on the 1537 feels perhaps slightly like a harder plastic than the 1708. The feel of the controls is identical.
What about the power a enhanced thing I have the camo one I just purchased and I’d like to use it on my phone but when I plugged it into the wall it never turned on no light turned on please help I know I’m late but still
It's ridiculous for it not to be easier to tell the difference. How about an ingraved bluetooth symbol? Duh. It's not that hard, unless they were trying to make it hard.
I have question. why my niece told me that before he use the 2013 Xbox controll wirelessly. and now I use it I cant connect it to Bluetooth. while on the back of the 2013 Xbox controller it says WIRELESS. pls help me
Hello, it’s true that it’s wireless, but the 2013 and other old models can only connect to Xbox One, you’d need a special USB Dongle if you want to connect it to PC. The newer Xbox controllers from mid 2016 and newer have Bluetooth that can connect to other devices like a mobile phone or tablet.
To pair with the Xbox or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 ... if it doesn't pair staight out of the box. The non-bluetooth "standard" from the best I can tell (from google searching) use a Microsoft proprietary 2.4 ghz radio signal.
Yeah, of course, pretty much every xbox controller out there that you can buy (especially if you go to like a Best Buy or Target)... Those Xbox Controllers all have bluetooth nowadays. You can also go the DualShock 4 Route, those for sure have Bluetooth 🙂
I don’t think it works 😣... I looked at the release date and it came out in 2015. Controllers that were released after August 2016 (when the xbox one s was released) have Bluetooth.
Pretty much, any xbox one controller that was released after the Xbox One S came out back in August 2016 has built-in bluetooth. So, if you go to the store (such as Target, Best Buy, or wherever you usually go) today and see xbox one controllers in the video game aisle, they all should have bluetooth.
I usually just plug mine in and it works... but if you really want to make sure, take the batteries out, plug it in, and hold down the Xbox button and it should work.
My Xbox controller has Bluetooth built in but my friend gave it to me for my phone and it just won't sync with my phone even though I've connected other bluetooth Xbox controllers to my phone just fine.
Hello thanks for the video, I have question, Yesterday I bought the old one controller without Bluetooth, and I tried many time to pair it with my windows 10, but windows 10 cannot recognized my controller, Is there any way to pair this controller to my windows 10? thank you
Hi there, you can use a micro usb cable and plug it in directly for a wired connection. If you want to use it wirelessly, you need one of these www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/adapters/wireless-adapter-windows
@@wowVJ ،Thank You. Yes, I meant connecting the controller wirelessly, Today I searched a lot to find out why when I hold that button and it blinks windows does not recognize it until I saw this video, I thought this Bluetooth controller was broken and just blinking.
So if you cant see the xbox logo in your controller perfectly it doesn't have bluetooth but if you can see the xbox logo perfectly in your controller it has bluetooth
Hey there, this video might help you out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x22btVN8RsM.html... if you have an android device, it should be really similar
You can tell by the housing around the xbox button, if it's one solid piece then it's bluetooth (most of the time it's the same color, like the gray and blue controller in my video). When the housing is separate (usually controllers with a black border around the housing, my video shows off the white controller with black around the xbox button), this has no bluetooth.
Ohh, it might get a little pricey... but back in the day, I'd use an OTG Micro USB Adapter (so it's a micro-usb tipped adapter that goes into your phone with a traditional USB-A end to plug in your controller)... then I'd just use a wired xbox 360 controller. But if you only have a wireless controller, you're gonna have to get some sort of USB receiver for the 360 controller 😣... if you search for all that stuff on Amazon, it might be like $30-40 total just to use the 360 controller on an android 😢.
If my laptop has Bluetooth support, can I pair it with the controller without any other hardware? Or do I still need to buy a Bluetooth adapter...Thank you!
It should pair :) my laptop has Bluetooth support and I use the newer model Xbox controllers on it daily for gaming (I’m a trash keyboard/mouse user hahaha)
