Amazing video! Probably my favorite, thank you so much! :D Funny enough though the INFP parts I identify with isn't really Fi but more Ne/Si. And to be honest I wonder how INFJs wouldn't also identify with Ne at least to some extent. I have observed that INFJs (and me too if I am one) sort of consider all possibilities and perspectives before synthesizing everything into one. That first part of the process sounds a lot like how Ne is often described (considering all possibilities and perspectives). I definitely agree that both Ni and Ne can be responsible for great vision, but I think that somehow Ni is more singular and not just a general vision but also almost like a single best or most likely path to an outcome. At least in the Ne people I've observed (specially ENTPs and INFPs) it seems like their vision is a lot more scattered.

It seems like part of the difference between Ni and Ne is that Ni tends to be more subconscious (ie the 'vision' is formed subconsciously and not based on rational analysis) while Ne is more conscious. Maybe the difference is also related to how Ni (according to Jungian typology, as I understand it anyway) is more of a subjective function geared more towards what could be while Ne is geared towards the objective (ie developing new ways to understand what is). Another way to think about it is that Ni could be associated with Plato's metaphysics while Ne could be associated with Aristotle's metaphysics. Where these associations came from I am not entirely sure

What do you think Aristotle's type could be? He's usually seen as ENTJ so that would make him an Ni user, but I'm not sure about his typing myself.

You're right, Ni is certainly subjective. You could also say that it functions partly subconsciously, though I hesitate to use the word because tends to be conflated with un-conscious, whereas Ni use (especially in Ni doms and Ni aux) is not unconscious. According to Jung, the higher the function in one's stack, the more conscious. Maybe an Ni dom is highly conscious of the subconscious processes at work in their Ni!

@@RensRoom Honestly, I am not sure. Based on my understanding of J/P in MBTI, I think Aristotle would have been more of an ENTP, since his entire philosophy revolves around identifying concepts/ideas from the world (as opposed to Plato who tended to focus much more on the abstract notions and ideals). I have also heard some people type Aristotle as ENFJ, which might make sense but I am not sure if that is accurate (or as accurate as trying to type someone from over 2000 years ago can be!).

@@RensRoom The term subconscious has no formal definition and is thrown about by every armchair psych around. Avoid.

I love the way you tell the story all around. It's like I'm listening to myself trying to explain something to others.😊 A very valuable channel. It deserves a subscription. Warm regards.

It's strange when Ni is the dominant function and still hardest to understand. It seems to be explained in a way just the way it works, you just know and have a vision that you're an Ni user but no idea how you're using it exactly :D

I was thinking today that Ni is a bit like Taoist philosophy. Everything just Is. The more you focus too much upon, causes its essence to escape. The Tao that can be named is not the Tao. To know truth you must not hold it you must let it go. ENFP thoughts.

@@silentgrove7670 I loved the analogy. Yes, focusing on it leads to more confusion and over processing. Also, when you try to make others trust it, they dismiss it.

@@silentgrove7670 That's an excellent analogy, there is much in common I think between a lot of Ni intuitions and the intuitions at work in Taoism.

@@chaoticbreeze6262 part of the reason why I'm obsessed with trying to find out if I am for sure an INFJ or not, is because it was incredibly eye opening to begin trusting these "visions", "feelings", whatever-you-may-call-it. My entire life I had felt really stupid not being able to explain things to others that I simply already knew but couldn't explain why, which also made me unable to trust my own self. But if I am not actually an INFJ and an INFP instead, then I would be taking a completely wrong and counter-productive path for personal growth I think...

@@gehdochnicht I can totally understand that. I'm still obsessed with getting sure if I'm an INFJ too. It's very hard to know how Ni works, at least for me, so I don't think I can use it blindly when I want to even if I use it without realising. I try to observe the pattern of my thoughts, that kinda helps. Do you seem to diverge towards a lot of ideas, go in one direction, come back and try thinking about other possibilities or are you like subconsciously mulling about one particular insight and somehow you know that's true or what you feel is right? Even after considering several thought processes just for the sake of doubting/being certain, do you usually end up with the first insight as it keeps ticking you? I may be wrong but this is how I differentiated. So, I relied more on distinguishing the two clearly on the basis of Fe and Fi. Figuring out is quite easier in this case.

IMO, best to always think of Ni and Ne in terms of their complementary sensing functions. To me, that clarifies what is going on cognitively because you ca see/sense the interaction if you can have some awareness of it. Now, trying to determine the process externally through someone else's actions is very difficult because we cannot sense their internal processes, and most creative/visonary exploits can often be reasoned through either a Ni or Ne process when coupled with the corresponding Se or Si function.

I don't have much of a vision in life. I mean I do have it but it doesn't seem a main focus at all. I'd explain Ni this way: it's about connecting things and trying to find the underlying pattern behind it, if there's any. It's a slow, almost subconscious process. Once the system is formed, it may seem a bit rigid and repulsed by integrating new information or ideas. It brings a lot of tunnel vision. What Ni is reluctant to do, Ne yearns it and embraces it.

In these discussions of functions I think that peoole fail to include the concept of scale. Ni visions vs other form of visions is distinguised by time scale.

I have recently started to question if I was an ENTP do the the similarities with the INFJ cognitive stack. Them having Ne really pushed me to identify if my intuition was Ne or Ni. When I think of Ne vision I visualize a subconscious process that gathers related concepts. They would be hesitant to settle on one best approach. I think what made me confident as a Ni user, is that Ni vision similary visualizes related concepts. However, its to narrow and focus on one particular concept or approach. I find myself trying to organize and place what is happening into some related concept or pattern I've already encountered. Ni seems to function more like pattern recognition to me, and Ne is more like neverending predictive related content algorithm.
@PowerRedBullTypology

Ne is pattern recognition of the external world where Ni is patern recognition of the internal world. In the internal world the mind can take a lot of time to order the patterns because the patterns are not moving. It's like it's is stored on the harddrive and thus time can be taken to analyse the content. Ne on the other hand is external and thus tries to recognize the patterns outside of the self .Because the external world is both only party known by it's user and also constantly in motion, it know's as a principle that while it can it to a good degree can predict and recognize patterns, it always knows that it is always limited by 2 these things (motion and lack of being able to know all things in the outside world) and thus as a consequence knows it can never be absolutely certain of the prediction.
