@@bob-o9865 Yeah I mean Idk how many miles you have on it but at a certain point all that stuff is regular maintenance. I've had to do all that too (besides the rack and pinion which I'm replacing shortly). I can tell you if you plan on keeping it use genuine parts. The auto parts store stuff (engine mounts, etc) are garbage and last only a short time. For those of us old enough to remember (pre-power steering) that mobility "spinner" was commonly referred to as a suicide knob and was (is?) actually illegal in some states. It was referred to as a Suicide Knob because when you were trying to turn the vehicle, and as you were completing the turn and the steering wheel was returning to it's forward position, the knob would sometimes catch on clothes, etc and would go off the road or into oncoming traffic.

I bought a 2013 rave 4, new i order it from the dealership. At 100,000 mile. I replace, the struts with the Toyota struts. I replaced VVT , cams intake, and exhaust on the engine. And I replaced the brakes all around. It has 103,000 miles on it today. It has been 5 years after it was paid for the repairs are just normal maintenance. That’s 5 5 years of no repairs, just new tires and oil changes, buying gas and car washes. I hate how it looks, but I love how good it is, all wheel drive.

My dad has degenerative disc disease and he loves my 07 Rav4. For him small SUV or small pickup height is ideal also having a low lip where the bottom of the door meets the floor because it is hard for him to lift his feet high. Also the 269 hp from the 3.5L V6 helps his option. His first car was a 66 Fairlane with a 390 and he's completely sure this Toyota is faster.

My brother in law had a Murano AWD. It burned a ton of oil with the VQ engine. I think that the Cats failed and pushed dust into the cylinders, scuffing the walls or the rings or something. I put a catch can on it to see just how much it pushed through the PCV. It filled the can in about 30 miles! I had to replace the cats, valve covers and the PCV but it never helped. I ended up recommending he get a RAV4 like this one, a 2013. No issues since! He lifted it on bigger snow tires for going over the pass which he does often to see family. I bought a Lexus RX350 for my wife and she loves it too. I love not having to work on it except for maintenance. My fun car gets all the attention though, 1994 30zx TT, so I can focus on that haha.

Not a fan of the Rav4 electronic steering. On my ‘07 model, once the battery discharges to a certain level, the system will shut down making it near impossible to steer. Mind you, this can happen WHILE THE CAR IS GOING DOWN THE ROAD. Happened to me when my alternator died. Tried to make it home and was lucky to get the car safely pulled off the road when the steering assist shut down.

Bought a 99 Camry with 148k in March 2018. I have beat the living hell out of it almost every single mile I’ve had it. I’m now at 246k. I have replaced a lot of stuff including the timing belt and related components. But engine and trans have had no major issues

I traded in my Tundra and I’ve regretted it every day since. Although, I have a 4Runner two years older with the same engine - 2UZ-FE; and with that I actually have a towing capacity increase of 500 #’s. That also happens to be Toyota’s second most reliable engine.

Those steering wheel spinners were really popular in the 1950s, I suppose because there was no power steering and they could be a little hard to turn. They pretty much disappeared in the 1960s, I was told, because they were outlawed. Perhaps that was just in Illinois, or perhaps they were never really outlawed at all. Or perhaps power steering just made them largely superfluous. Does anybody know?
@OrangeRocks1986
@OrangeRocks1986 3 года назад
I see mail people all the time getting the wheel spinners. I've seen disabled people who who the wheel spinners as well. I don't think that it's illegal, but rather limited use case. But to be safe, always check with your local laws. Typically Police officer or Sheriff department will be able to help you.
