The battery should sit for 4 hours before testing. It takes that long for the voltage to stabilize. If you have a carbon pile load tester you can load it with a 100A for 5 seconds and wait 15 minutes. But if it’s bad right off the charger it’s really bad.
I like that tester! Way better than the old battery test I used back in the 1980s! Back then the shop I was working at still used the SUN oscilloscope for tune-ups! Ever use the SUN scope?
My battery reads 40% SOH in vehicle. If i take it out will it read higher or lower? However i tested new batteries in vehicles and they read 100% in comparison so do we really need to take them out to test?
This is a poor way to test a battery. You first need to get rid of the surface charge left by charging it up before testing it. Also a conductance tester like yours does not give an accurate state of health reading, you need to do an actual aH capacity test (ie: 20hr etc) on it to test capacity and actual state of health...
