This guy is a great teacher for these young guys. 👏 its nice to see someone teach them all the correct diagnostic procedures. Keep up the good work my man!
This is by far the best video to help with diagnosing this problem in a clear way. Unfortunately RU-vid makes it very hard to find. I am not sure how their search works but might be worth looking into. Thanks for the help!
Sterling Broyles, thank you, yes it should cycle for 2-3 seconds 2 times or 3 times, depending on how cold the engine is... if it cycles all the time it means there is a fault in the circuit... you can follow the steps in the video to troubleshoot it... Good Luck!!!
Hey I have a 99 Savana 3500 6.5. It was stalling when I bought it and I replaced and relocated the pmd. Now I have issues with start. It cranks but won't start. Have to pump the gas to start it normally but when this happens it's like nothing is happening when I push on the pedal. I got it running twice, but white smoke came out of the tailpipe and I freaked out both times and shut it off. Now I can't get it to start again. The old owner used a block heater, but I can't where it's currently stuck. I just drove it 45 miles no crazy issues or dash lights on. But I didn't get any acceleration going up even small inclines. There is a big hole in the muffler though so I figure that didn't help. But I'm worried it may be connected to starting it. Any suggestions on what I can test? And where/how I do it on a van chassis. Still waiting on a service manual
Patrick Conrad check your fuel filter make sure there is a good flow of fuel getting to the pump, after that if it keeps Acting up, Get the injectors and injection Pump Tested by a Diesel Specialist!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair awesome thank you for responding! Ill definitely do that. Unfortunately just stop on the side of a semi busy road so checking the fuel systems has been tough. You think if I get it running I'll be safe to move it about a mile? Also I heard glow plugs maybe another issue as well. Figure if I can't get it started I might as well test those while I wait on a tow?
Sir i followed everything tested and replaced relay . Upon placing replay to engine block relay popped . Whats your advice. To find issue . Im considering a manual switch conversion
CRAIG BERUBE yes, a defective relay can cause that, the wait to start light is grounded by the computer, the computer turns the wait to start light off after the relay is de energized... there is a return wire to the computer that gets battery voltage when the relay is on...
