thanks for the video Larry. At 66 yrs here I'm still learning! Like Adolph said below, can the unloader be repaired? Can you use carb cleaner or something to flush them?

Where might one find the pressure gauge & fitting to properly test the output pressure?

If the bypass hose is showing a fairly steady stream of water (aka method 2) is trying method 1 worth it? I have my unit bypass into a tank so both methods are easy to do. Just wanted to know if it means something different if there is steady flow but the pressure does build up?

My gauge drops to near zero when I pull the trigger, then goes to about 3300 when released ( 3500 psi pump ). What could this mean?

Sound like the packing in the pump may be burnt. If so, it will have to be replaced.

That's not an adjustment. It's how the the unloader works. If the spike becomes too great then it's time to replace the unloader

3:26 the gun is closed, there’s supposed to flow water through bypass? You said if the water comes out of that line the unloader is defective.

No the gun was open and the unloader was still bypassing water. This is how you know the unloader is worn out and needs to be replaced. When too much water is being bypassed when the gun is open then then the unloader is defective.

I depends on the unloader. Some are worth repairing and other are just best to replace. If you know the type of unloader and model number, please give us a call so we can give you the correct advice at 1-800-433-2113. The parts inside the unloader will wear out over time so trying to flush it out won't help unless it did get some debris stuck in it but it is still best to give us a call so we can help diagnose the problem.
