My symptoms were no.1 cylinder missing - running like a pig after 10 - 30 mins of use. Can't remember code it kicked out. Thanks for upload helped a lot - initially panicked - A LOT - when I saw injectors and wiring loom in the same sentence. Would like to share my experience in the hope of assisting others. Removing tricky bolt on the cover - managed to do with 1/4" drive, extension and knuckle joint and a fair bit of wiggling. The bolts remain captive in the cover, so minimal effort getting thread started back in. Did the test with the meter and continuity checked out alright, the cables didn't seem brittle, so was puzzled. **** THE SOLUTION **** The plastic rail can be clicked open with a small screwdriver to reveal the whole cable, but all that was needed was the plastic covers that guard the the little spade connectors (that go directly onto the injectors) to be carefully opened, GENTLY squeeze the connectors closed SLIGHTLY with little pointy pliers then reassemble. Did this and hasn't missed a beat for over a month now.
After reading some forums too this seems to be a good fix for some time before buying the 100 harness :/ I'll actually be doing this tomorrow night on mine. Same Cyl 1 misfire p0201 or p0301 can't remember.
If you have a 20 strand wire and you cut 19 of them you will still get continuity ! But put the wire under load you would find a poor connection using volt drop. This method will only work if the wire is open circuit.
Brilliant video mate, mine only coughs occasionally at motorway speeds so if I tested mine even if it is the issue I’m guessing it would all seem good?
Hi there great vid I’m relatively clued up on this sort of thing but you say in your video/blog you had a misfire on cylinder 1 I also have this issue and it’s intermittent worse when it’s cold and better to basically fine when it warms up, my question is you say you checked the loom and it was ok?? But did you misfire go away after fitting the new loom🤔 look forward to your reply many thanks Rob
i got a juddery 1.9 tdi PD 103 bmp caddy which is when warmed up jumping about like its miss firing, we plugged the computer in and all injectors seem to be -300 or +300 on the flows, its also taking many turns of the starter motor to get it to fire up, gonna get this loom looked at monday, thanks for showing me how straight forward it is to pull out.
hi the high flow readings mean the injector seals are leaking, so ecu overcompensates. bout £15 on ebay for seal kit, but if the head is scored you can sometimes fix with a flap wheel, will fix your problem and cure your cranking and bad start issues instant
The high readings were only for a short period.. next morning after was fine! 1 week ago it started to judder again.. But now again its fine.. Very weird, but it doesnt look like a mechanical problem..
ah right, thought you had same symptoms as the guy you replied to, the most common cause of this symptom is the connectors open up with the heat and vibration but the best way to be more exact is to read the codes, but its only a 30min job to pull each connector and squeeze each connector so they get a better grip on the injector valve, give it a try but again read the codes with vcds Ed
I gave it a read with vcds, no error codes popped up.. When i replaced my rocker cover gasket week before the shuddering happend, i replugged the connectors to make sure they are in good.. Maybe its worth it to change the whole loom, when it happens again, and if it comes up with an error code.
Got an A3 1.9tdi BKC. engine cut out and now cranks but won't start . Got a p0200 code (injector circuit open). checked injector loom, all wires had continuity and 2-3 ohms resistance. any ideas what problem could be?
Hi, can you help Passat b6 1.9 tdi starts fine in the morning but after 20mins as it gets up to temperature if I stop at lights or let the revs go down it just cuts out and then it’s hard to get started again
Hi Mate, Many thanks for all the information thus far. I've taken out the injector electricial loom and tested it. It appears to be fine with on major difference in the continuity and restance. Please can you give me any other idea of why the engine is running rough. The car is a Skoda 1.9tdi pd
Hi. Great vid! On diagnostic my passat 1.9 pd 130 passat has an intermittent connector fault to injector one. Could this he the loom or something else. Thanks alot
I had the same question 7 years later, For me it is NOT the issue, but I still wonder if the loom can cause faulty readings because my IQ deviation numbers sometimes move slowly or not at all displaying the same figures for several miles.
i no it got nothing to do with this video bot can you tell if you can change the 16 pin computer connecter av 2 diagnostic code reader on and its says can not connect to vehicle plz help
Hi BMAC VAGS I have an Audi A3 8p TDI 2.0 and I get a slight judder at idle when the car has warmed up. Could this be the injector loom and is it a difficult job to replace? Cheer mate and I really enjoy your channel.
BMAC VAGS Hi. No I don't have a vagcom cable. I'm going to get the car serviced and see if it still judders once engine has warmed up. It only does it slightly and not all the time. Someone also said it could be engine mounts. Thanks for getting back in touch :)
BMAC VAGS The judder is random once the car has been for a drive. The car will do a quick slight judder, then is fine and might judder again maybe five seconds later. It is never a continues judder. The car is a manual drive and judders in or out of gear while at a stop, The car drives well too, so I don't think it's connected to the clutch.
