A starter motor solenoid has two coils and a high current contact.
With the help of a multimeter we can test the two coils and the contact in less than a minute.
The suction coil should read around 0.5 OHM (Ω), the hold coil should read around 1.5 OHM (Ω) and the closed contact should read 0.1 ~ 0.2 OHM (Ω).
