How To Test The Salinity of Your Pool 

I just got mine on the mail today. Can’t wait to use it on my salt pools. When I’m done using this tester on a salt pool, do I rinse it off and wipe? Or just put the cap back on and use it for the next salt pool? Pls explain or add it to the next video……thank you. God bless you.

Trying to accurately test pool salt is such a pain sometimes. Water temperature also plays a big part. It should be warm enough for a more accurate reading. Your salt tester is giving you a 2500 ppm value while the Hayward salt sensor is reading around 2900 ppm. I'm wondering if your salt tester wand is accurate, because most salt systems won't generate below 2800, and it looks like the lights are green on the panel display which means everything is up and running. As a service technician, I just use the Taylor titrant salt test kit to get a general readout. Also, too bad the Eco-matics are no longer being sold in California. Those were translucent cells and you could see chlorine production passing through the back end of the blades and into the return pipe. They are also designed to run at up to 4000 ppm (in fact, the manufacturer recommended it). I love salt systems because they save you on chems and keep pools relatively algae free, but testing has always been a hassle.
