Hi MoCrafts. Thank you so much for posting this video. I just purchased this serger. Although it comes with a well-illustrated manual, I am a visual learner and learn better by visual presentation. It was easier for me to thread my serger after I viewed your video! Thanks again. 👍
THANK YOU!!! I could NOT figure out what to do with the FIRST thread (lower looper) after I got it through the eye hole! You are the ONLY video demo that showed me where to put it! After about 2 hours of head aches (before I found your video) I am FINALLY threaded!
I watch your video every time I thread my machine, it’s the best video out there! Thank you so very much for taking the time to give such detailed instructions!!!🥰
THANK YOU! This was a plain easy to understand and you showed EXACTLY where threads went with your tweezers which made it SO easy. This was my first time threading and the first video I watched her finger was always in the way. THANK YOU!!!! Some basic lessons would be awesome so we can learn how to use this thing! :)
Found this video thank Jeebus I did cause it was kickin my butt. Thanks for your time! ( oh just bought it and ran out the first thread it came with, that's why I'm here :D )
I’m a new subscriber. Thank you for your videos on learning your serger. I ordered mine on Amazon because several friends I’m following here on RU-vid have one. I accidentally ordered the wrong model - theirs comes already threaded. Instead of dealing with canceling the order or a refund once it came due to my mistake, I decided to search YT to find out if it was a good machine still. From what I’m seeing, it’s definitely worth keeping and saving myself the $60-$70 price difference. Thanks again for your videos!
THANK YOU for making this video! I’m a tense and hyper personality and your personality calm cool and collected is how I can learn. PLEASE keep making videos on the DX!! Anything and everything is appreciated!!! I’m having extreme difficulty finding the appropriate knife and blade for this DX. Today’s delivery was knife blade that fit but bunched the material and will not cut. Mine was a refurbished on EBay and they did not tell me that. So I have no picture of what the actual knife and blade are to look like and where to buy them. Please continue to do “lessons” on this DX. Thank you.
Wow what a lovely response. I’m so glad you found. this helpful. I’m planning more sewing videos too and will include the serger… stay tuned! I will make a short one f just about the cutter if it helps :)
Watched this video Because I bought this machine and wanted a quick tutorial on threading the machine. As she got to the part of trying to do the chain feed after threading the machine . She never realized she was turning the feed wheel forward instead of backwards even though the arrow is showing the direction to turn the wheel. She ended up wasting another 3 minutes re- threading the machine off camera. She never acknowledged the mistake and advise viewers to not make that common mistake. I give her props though for the effort. Point to learn. ALWAYS turn the wheel toward you or you could ruin this machine before you get to use it.
Thank you so much....you are a good instructor on showing just how to threat my serge machine..... I'm very pleased now that I'm not frustrated anymore...I'm subscribing you..
Thank you very much I am having some issues with the "green" pathway and I hope that watching this will solve that issue!! We will see when I try to thread it tomorrow
Will you be uploading more videos on how to use the machine?😅 im a newbie. Just got my serger today but i have watched your other video! Please do so!!😩😩
Thanks for your video. I'm a visual learner and the cd that came with it is nice but many laptops don't have cd player so I watch it initial on DVD player that has my streaming apps. This is much more direct and to the point! Thank you!
I just used my video to remind myself how to thread this machine. 😂 It’s been a long time but found you can make masks with the serger. Let me know if you’d like a video tutorial on it. Might post one anyway :)
I’m a new subscriber and I’m still looking through your videos. If you haven’t made a mask yet, I’d love to see one!
@@joycewade4198 If it’s not in the video - you pull the lever away from the machine and can then flip it up and down. Hope that helps. Someone said the video helped them with this so I’m thinking it’s in there.
“Never Deny Me “, sent us HERE on You Tube! Poor Man had HARD TIME👎🏽😅 , but learned the HARD WAY ! At 71 , I am NOT him( Nor was I at 32 😅😉! Thank You , young lady? Good Place to BUY this Machine ?
Because this lady is tired she does several things wrong in the video. You first start with the hand wheel on the right at the top position lining up the mark on the hand wheel with the black line on the side of the machine. Next I like to pull out the cutting blade and lower it out of the way. The video shows this already down but it was not explained. Remove the foot by pressing the button on the back while lifting the foot lever all the way to easily remove the long foot. Release the foot lever and leave it in the up position while threading through all of the tensioners one by one. The most common setting for the tensioners is 5 all the way across unless you are fine tuning your stitches or trying to make a flat lock stitch. Using different colored threads the first few times will really help you figure out which tensioner to adjust. If you want tension on the thread you can lower the lever and proceed, remembering to raise it again for each new thread through the successive tensioners. She did not explain that the first thread actually locks into the triangle although this is shown in the video for you. This helps keep it in place while you are threading through the first looper. The loopers are called loopers not needles. The first thread goes under the 2nd looper not over as shown in the video. Wetting the back of the eye of the needles will help pull the strings into the needle more easily. Try it, you will be truly surprised how well this works each time. Once the needles are threaded, pull the thread under and back then to the right to be with the first two threads. Reattach the foot by lifting the foot lever all the way and lining up the bar on the foot under it. Let the foot lever down completely while pressing the button on the back of the foot and it should lock into place as shown in the video. Now move the cutting knife back up into the cutting position and lock it in. You are ready to close the front cover carefully. When turning the hand wheel be sure to turn it toward you not backward as shown in the video. It was no wonder the threads did NOT chain together. I think she was sleeping by this point. There is a black arrow on the right side of your machine to show this direction clearly. If we have threaded the machine correctly as I explained there is really no need to turn the hand wheel except for bringing the needle to top dead center or moving the 2nd looper out of the way just a little to thread the two needles. Holding all 4 threads and pulling back slightly you can easily chain the stitches together about 3 inches. This is how you want it as you sew. Try to leave 3 inches of chained stitches at the end of you sewing each time so you have something to pull back on when starting to sew each time.Use your long tweezers as much as possible especially if you have large hands like mine. Wear glasses if you need to and use the white needle tool if you prefer. One end of the tool will help you change your needle and the other end will hold the thread and push it through the eye for you. Then use the point of your scissors, a seam ripper point or the tweezers to pull the thread through all the way. The most common setting for the tensioners is 5 all the way across. Place your material under the foot and pull all 4 strings back as you start sewing. Cut your thread away from the material so that it will no unravel on you later. Tying off these threads if not seamed in is a good idea too.
I appreciate you taking the time to write this! This is so helpful. I have NO idea what I am doing with this machine as a beginner and there aren't many videos showing how to work it. You should make your own videos!
