If you ask people to use different adjectives to describe the marriages they see and observe in their lives, chances are you would get a wide array of answers and responses. Despite us all being familiar with marriage, there is no uniform answer or idea of what marriage is or should be.
Most of have seen poor of unhealthy examples of marriage, and these examples have led us to believe that we should consider ourselves lucky if we manage to have a lasting marriage, or one that didn't end in divorce.
But what if it didn’t have to be this way?? What if the way we described marriage wasn’t such a mixed bag?? What if you didn’t have to suffer through marriage? What if couples didn’t have to feel like divorce was their best option after 10 or 15 years?? What if they believed there was an option to continue on and make it? And what if couples could go into marriage feeling confident that they could actually make it?
Or here’s something better and even more audacious: What if the goal wasn’t simply to survive in marriage, but to thrive in marriage?
