The Celtic button knot is one of the most vital knots in the paracord crafts. It is in essence a single strand stopper knot.
It is used to close off bracelets and as a decorative knot.
The knot is featured in the ABoK under the number 545.

It sure is. The Ashley Book Of Knots #545 to be exact. Dearest paracordists (yes, all of you)! There is an entire lore that dates hundreds of years back describing what you do. Why, oh why do you have to rename and redefine everything? I watched an entire video (plus ads) on the so-called snake knot before realizing, that it was just a series of two-strand wall knots tied in a cumbersome way. Don't get me wrong! I've recently taken this craft up again after a four decade hiatus and I really appreciate what you are doing as it helps me getting up to par, but this is a major recurring annoyance. /rant ❤
