My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.
You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.
Enjoy browsing!
Love,
Lucy

@@tboolah1 There are garments named after Turks for example "Robe a la Turkque" and there is an art movement that is called "Turquerie". So yeah, Eurpeans, especially Frenchs and Italians were familiar with Turkish culture and I think they have found it very interesting. Turban should not be 100% Turk of course (Side note: There are hundreds of turban styles including Turkish khalifas' inventions) It is obvious that it was associeted with Turks in that time period.

@@tboolah1 exactly what I was thinking, orthodox Christians adopted the style from the early Christian Samaritan saints, our church has icons of them. INR! I FEEL REGENCY STYLE SUITS HER PERFECTLY! (its also my top fave fashion period in history! I seriously would dress like that everyday if i could afford to buy or make true authentic looking dresses and under garments. Idc if i would stick out in public and get odd looks and comments. If people can walk around with skirts that are 3 sizes too short, 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s fashion, half their head shaved off, rainbow hair, men in dresses, latex clothing, clear plastic clothes, one legged jeans, jeans with holes in the butt, clear rubber shoes, female exposed nipples, ETC ETC. THEN I CAN DRESS IN REGENCY FASHION REGULARLY IF I SO DESIRE! OR ANY OTHER ERA FOR THAT MATTER...LIKE VICTORIAN, ELIZABETHAN, RENAISSANCE, ETC ETC! Plus MOST "modern" fashion is inspired by, or has elements of, fashion/styles from history. Be if from the 1800s, 1500s, 1940s, or 1970s... MOST of the styles we wear these days resemble styles from the past. SO wearing a full regency outfit, from hair, dress, to shoes, for regular daily wear SHOULD NOT BE SUCH A ODD THING TO DO! I do enjoy many "modern" fashion styles...such as K-Fashion, J-Fashion, Punk Styles, Sporty/Comfy clothes, etc... BUT...im not limited to just "modern" fashion... SADLY the most modern thing to do is to wear the least amount of clothes as possible...showing as much skin as possible is the newest trends. And wearing clothes that are more modest and cover most of ur body is NOT very trendy on in fashion atm... Cause Heaven knows modesty is a "sin" in the fashion world...WHICH IS SOMETHING I HIGHLY DISAGREE WITH! THE POINT IS...PEOPLE HIGHER UP IN THE FASHION WORLD TELL US TO EXPERIMENT AND BE UNIQUE AND FEARLESS WITH OUR STYLES! BUT WHEN WE DOOO JUST THAT WE GET JUDGED BY OTHERS FOR BEING "WEIRD"...OR ASKED WHY R WE IN A COSTUME... LUCKILY IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT OTHERS SAY AND THINK, AND THE GROUP OF US THAT ADORE AND/OR DRESS IN PERIOD CLOTHING/FASHION IS VERY VERY VERY HUGE! SO WE AS A SINGLE PERSON ARE NOT ALONE! Even if we don't personally know other people that enjoy period fashion, we are NOT alone! THERE IS A LOT OF US IN THE WORLD! SO LET US DRESS HOW WE WANT AND WHAT MAKES US HAPPY AND FEEL BEAUTIFUL! (personally 90% of the time if i dress period as normal clothes, i get complimented on my clothes...i may here very few people whispering things like "what is she wearing", "look at her!"...etc...however thats VERY RARE. And i even get hit on! Which is always a plus lol. And all people over 50 normally adore it! Its not really much different than wearing any other style, modern or not.)
@HexMachineNica
@HexMachineNica 4 года назад
@@onnalynn7004 Totally agree with you! I have so much respect for people who just do their own thing with their style. Personally, through medieval faires and historical reenactment, I found out that I actually felt very comfortable and like myself in medieval (Viking age) clothes, so I lean more and more towards that style in everyday life now and could not feel happier about that.

@@HexMachineNica Nica THATS WONFERFUL! I am so glad u found your style!(and if it changes 5 years from now THATS GREAT TOO!😉Fashion is about fun and happiness and feeling BEAUTIFUL!😘) Mine is MOSTLY regency, but also Victorian and Edwardian, with some 17-1800s Scottish fashions, ancient Scandinavian fashion(which i suppose is viking...i am Swedish and Norwegian lol), and a few other styles in between lol...(also 1940s are lovely...but thats more "modern" if u ask me lol.) I kinda just mix and match all my fave styles together and go with it! Some days ill go for just one style, some days ill mix 5 diff eras! Lol JUST DEPENDS ON MY MOOD AND WHAT I FEEL PRETTY IN THAT DAY!😉 I sooo wish more people would at least TRY wearing styles from past eras...farther back than just 50ish years. CAUSE MAN CAN CERTAIN STYLES MAKE U FEEL ALL KINDS OF THINGS! BEAUTIFUL, SEXY, POWERFUL, SMART, BRAVE, ONE WITH NATURE, MOTHERLY, ETC ETC... Sooo many feelings for so many styles! (I mean if modern fashion is what makes people truly happy then i WANT them to dress like it...however...it nvr hurts to at least TRY something new.😉) I do wish all men dressed the way men did in the 1800s, and a few other eras...cause man is it sexy! Lol. ANYWHO! I wish i could see ur style! I bet its awesome! I looove me some medieval/viking age attire!!!😉😉😉
