I have always put a small bead between the impact shield and the crimp. The idea is that the bead runs down the sloped top of the impact shield which ejects the hook.

Great idea 💡 I never have bother with the tope bait ejecting from the impact shield but have more hassle with keeping it in, probably due to the size and weight of the bait, smaller baits I’ll be giving it a go 🙏🙏🎣

I would like to buy a couple of these but am I fine tying them straight to 50 pound braid or should I use a shock leader? All I have is 40 pound mono and 40 pound fluoro but I feel that might not be strong enough. I'm targeting sharks 3-6 feet.

40lb braid upwards straight through is fine
