This is just a uni but that's cool it's how I do it too. Tip. I use a binder clip those black things with the two handles to hold stacks of paper. I keep a few in my tackle box and one on a zinger. Then when on the water on a moving boat in the wind you take your line through the swivel or lure back on itself. Put the clip over both lines. This holds them together now you take the tag end back towards the hardware and around the two and do your twists around the 2 lines. Once you have those you pull it out of the clip wet and pull. Does a few things but the big one is it keeps your loop open and your lines clear.
The problem i had with braid last year was the rubbing on the swivel, single loop. I had a thought about looping it twice and i also suspect after every days fishing to tie a fresh knot. Braid just doesn't like being rubbed up the wrong way. Thanks for sharing bud.
LOL may want to rethink your knot tying. All I use is a Clinch Knot most time just a single loop but sometimes I'll double it with my braid and swivels, and some hooks depending what I'm fishing for.Never have a problem with them and for weeks on end and I may only change the mono leader and only retie the braid if it's starting to show wear from rubbing rocks, sinker slide, trees, etc.Never had a problem with it and the swivel and I also fish nearly evrey day....lol
Good video ,, was fixing to give it a thumbs down when he started to show us the wrong way before he showed us the right way ,, but he got off that real quick and showed us how to do it ,,
Pretty good knot. That knot is about like 1/2 of the uni-knot. Thats the knot I use to tie mono leaders onto braided line. The knots won't slip off of the braid or the mono. I like the uni-knot to tie a leader on because it'll go through all the rod guides when I cast. Also, if for instance you use 20lb test braided line to fish for catfish, or striper or whatever you say you fish for. Then you decide to fish for trout with clear line. Just snip the leader off and use your choice of a light line leader. I use 6 to 8 foot leaders on occasion with no problems casting or rigging things the way I like to.
No need for all that cinching! Just double your braid up and run it through the swivel and then tie a simple overhand with five or six twists and then trim. Simple and it’s as strong as any braid to swivel knot. Been using it for years. If I don’t use a swivel I use a FG knot. These days I use a swivel a lot as it’s much faster and so long as you don’t keep dragging the swivel through the top eye, it’s convenient. FG knots can eventually fray after many times through the eyes, so it’s not perfect either.
LOL and all you need is a Clinch Knot with a double wrap around the swivel/hook and 10-12 wraps....bam done within a few seconds and will not slip. Gotta hand it to bAssers, you all sure do know how to fall for gimmick products and make things more complicated then need be....
