How to tie huaraches barefoot sandals - Xero Shoes 

I made a $4 pair of huaraches out of half-price Lands End flip flops and two 5 foot lengths of paracord from Michael's. This tying method has worked great for just walking. Tomorrow I'll see how it is to run in them.

I was having problems getting the lace comfortable ie not too tight but not too loose. I have just bought 10 m of 3mm round elastic and just retreaded my 6mm DIY sandals using the same tying style. Feels more comfortable not 100% ie not as comfortable as my Xtrails or Ztrails but persevering as like the DIY creative element. I tie them off at the ankle rather than bring back up and through the knot on the top of the foot. Good point of communication with walkers and friends thanks like your sandals.

It is two half hitches, but it's called a Larks Head Knot, also known as the Hero's knot if it's made out of a loop of webbing/cord/rope instead.

Thinking of buying a pair of these, my first ever pair of barefoot shoes! Although I’m about 8 years late watching this video lol I’m wondering if anyone can let me know how to attach or tie the toe strap to lock it in? Don’t understand how it can be done without creating an uncomfortable knot bulge at the bottom. Trying to acquire the most information possible before this purchase. I don’t want to invest money into barefoots actual everyday or hiking shoes until I try a very simple, basic product and I don’t think I’ll find a better option than these. I use that kind of knot on my macrame!

I call that a cow hitch or a ring hitch. There are different common names, but in the Ashley Book of Knots it's #5. It's also #56, #59, #244, #1184, #1673, #1694, #1698, #1700, #1802, #2163, #2164, #2168, #2175, and #3317.

do you all reccomend burning the tip of the rope on the bottom side of the shoe (the end of the rope that hits the ground)?
