already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). ru-vid.comUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ru-vid.comUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
I got on great, the only thing was when you trim the line from the feathers and hook I cut the rig so I had to start again. But now it looks great- Thanks for the help on how to make it!!!
What's the best lures for fishing for mackerel, the shops have me some soft plastic little fish lures, can I tie them in the same fashion as the feathers?
Hi Paul Great videos, I know it’s a long time since you made Hokkai head lures was wondering if you could give me an idea where you purchased them. Tight lines
Could you make a video or reply to this on how you could add enough mass to be able to cast just one. Not like a huge beach cast but a medium distance cast
I have never really fished with them singly only as part of a rig. The only time i have made something similar was for salt water fly fishing, which is using a fly rod. For light fishing maybe a modified jig head would work or a Carolina rig. As for a video i have nothing planned a long this line and have a very long list of other videos i would like to make, sorry, but thanks for asking
wow, this is helping me a lot, i am just a beginner, great explaining, very nice you talk slow. keep on going with a good job. PS: where did you get those you call "hokkai" or is there another name for those? will appreciate if can answer to me. :) greeting from Norway
