Excellent show of difference between VT and XT Bino. I have only used the Blake’s and mechanical prusiks. However after thinking I was going to try the VT, I think I’ll be using the XT for tree work. It appears much more dependable for the small amount of extra drag that it adds. Thanks for sharing!

Hi am trying to watch all your video. Maybe, one of these day, we can have a pro and con of all these climbing knot. I just like stick with one or two. I purchased the VT setup but I only have use the petzel ID red on the roof just because I do roof repair a couple of times a year. But this year, I want to do tree work on our 5 acre because cutting down would damage the good tree.

Yes it's a good idea to pick a couple of hitches that you like most. Just remember when it's new make sure you do it low and slow. take care!

What size rope did you use for the prusik cord on your 1/2” rope? It looks to be a smaller size

Yes it is 8mm HRC cord.

I mistakenly got a 45 inch line… can this still be done? I noticed the Michoacán was harder to do even with 4-6 wraps

You can use 5 wraps the legs might be a little long. Is it a slpiced eye.?

@@BinoH it’s a sewn eye with the added wrapping for security on the ends. I attempted the Michoacán and it would hold the weight but wouldn’t tend much at all since the length on the legs was still long.

I use a 24" 8mm HRC cord and the Michoacán with 4 wraps @@Carranzac98

@@BinoH yes I’ll have to either shorten the one I got or order a shorter one, I’ll more than likely use this for the one you wrap and braid down the line.

@@BinoH I tried the XT and it worked like a charm got to the top of a pine this afternoon. Only trouble I had was at the top of the wrap was a bit far to reach to descend down. I had to climb up some to reach it and drop back down but I was fully extended

Use this in a RAD setup and eliminated some step in the climb.
