These arc shots are really useful to get a feel for what I'm supposed to be seeing, thanks. I'm about two hours into my first TIG welding and I never expected that you need to stay in one place for so long at the beginning of a run. And without the foot-cam I also wouldn't have expected that most of that time is at full power. Great stuff.

My first thought was, watching your movements is like watching a machine. So smooth and deliberate. The foot pedal cam is really helpful. It gives reference to how and when you show start slowing up on the amps. Good stuff!!!

Thanks so much for showing what you're doing with the pedal, I wish the other people I watch did that too.

Another great video Dusty. BTW I really appreciate that you include Metric and Standard measurements. And the picture in picture of the foot pedal is helpful, thank you for adding that. I'm sure it's a fair amount of extra effort in filming and editing.

I first started welding using acytelene, then MIG. Always wanted to learn TIG. I've been told that since I started with gas, and understand driving with a clutch, TIG is fairly easy. That being said..you are the only one that I have found to Actually show what your foot is doing in relation to the heat of the base material. Thank You...keep this Awesome content coming.

Watch how steady the filler rod stays. That is a big part of the battle.

What the reason for moving across the middle before adding filler?
@garypostell5268
@garypostell5268 2 года назад
It’s the puddle that melts the filler not the electro

Is there any nuances to adding filler to the side of the puddle like you did going back and forth? Thanks
@PacificArcTigWelding
@PacificArcTigWelding 4 года назад
So many haha. Unfortunately I had to side feed a bit due to welding around the camera. But all good. It will change the way you put the rod in, so just a matter of paying attention to how it’s feeding:)

I cannot seem to weld that controlled at 130 amps 0.125" thick If i was that much into the pedal, I'd blow right through it...maybe the amperage is not calibrated on the same on my machine.

Pacific Arc Tig Welding thanks, that actually helped a lot. I was starting up to low and taking too long to get a puddle going and by then the part was scorching hot and beyond saving pretty much...been Tig welding since Tuesday so lots to figure out still. I’ll run a coupon and tag you on Instagram...it won’t look anything like yours I’m sure hehe. Keep up the good work. It’s been really helpful and I appreciate your positive attitude.
