quick tip, you can also press down with a grout float

@@BYOTools When you lay the tile down initially on the thinset, many press down on the tile with the grout float instead of pressing down with your fingers. Thanks for the video. Good stuff.

We are in the process of finishing up a 2" hexagon tile marble bathroom floor. Every sheet has imperfections... not all the tiles the same height, some tiles have no spaces as they are unevenly cut, et cetera. I also had no idea how soft this stone is and if you're not careful it chips very easily too. In any case we have painfully tried to do the best we can which involves cutting out individual sections of the sheet to and allow for better spacing.. I am looking at it as a natural product which has inherent flaws and that is the beauty of it. Our house is over a 100 years old so the imperfections in the floor match the imperfections you'll find everywhere else you can look. Actually we are trying to make it as perfect as possible, and certainly lighting is very important. I've been scouring the Internet for advice on the 2" hexagon marble tile and the challenges that I have with it. It doesn't seem like a lot of people are using that and I'm beginning to understand why. That said again it's a natural product and its imperfections can be embraced Such as the laugh lines on an aged face.

darnit! I was about to look for QuartzLock to buy for regrouting my shower, but their instructions say "Do not use for commercial re-grouting or wet environment re-grouting installations, including showers, steam showers, and outdoor applications" Could you recommend a grout with a built in sealer that I could use for a tile bath/shower enclosure?

I feel you would be fine if you used this grout in a shower. They just don't like the idea of using their grout in a re-grouting situation. He is a link to another grout I just tried out for a bathroom project. You don't even have to mix this stuff. Just make sure the work in small areas with both of these types of grout.
