Here's how you tile onto a timber floor like a floor tiling pro.
A great job and you can see why this tiler has a 3-month waiting list!

Hard graft tiling. I learned that the hard way at 60-odd years old. This guy is a real pro. I did the whole ground floor of our house in those plank tiles, they have a curve in them, I had to use those clamp things. forget how many square metres, but it was 900kg of tiles anyway, and another pallet of adhesive and grout. R12 non slip. Took 3 weekends with a house full of dogs and furniture. I was a broken man before I got to the grouting. Concrete floors, luckily flat. Not level, but flat. That was the important thing. That rapid-flex is brilliant stuff. Multi-tool priceless. knee pads essential. A pro would probably have done it in an afternoon without the dogs and furniture in the way 😂 Then I find out my neighbour is a tiler. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Got handy with an angle grinder though, amazing what you can do with one of those once you get your eye in and chuck the guard away. This video is spot on. Just 2 years too late for me lol. These guys who handball tonnes of tiles up three flights of stairs in a morning deserve a medal the size of a frying pan. It's not an old man's job, that's for sure. It's for the young and the fit and the smart. Everyone thinks our tiles are wood floors till they drop their phone 😬

I do kitchens and bathrooms so do a lot of tiling , I can’t believe this fella hasn’t got a washboy! Game changer when I got mine a few years back! Makes the first wash off so easy and with your sponge float it stops you digging in to the grout lines, also I’ve been using the clip and wedge system for a few years now and especially on big tiles ! Wouldn’t do it any other way it makes it so easy and eliminates lipping of any tiles they are great! Anything that makes it easier is worth it in my book

I will definitely keep that tool in mind. I do tiling now and again and am ok at it, not amazing, but ok. Anything to make me better is welcome. Ive used the vitrex wedge and clip system in the past, but didnt like it. I found it didnt work for thinner tiles, needed to use spacers under the wedges to make it work.

Skill Builder not worth getting it out!!!! It’s hardly a big bit of kit which needs setting up is it, keeps your hands out of the water! Keeps it more even, get a much bigger surface area with the sponge float , I use it every time no matter how big or small a job , it’s just better

Good job with the cuts at the stairs. I've been tiling for 20 years and it's amazing to see how other professionals do it. I always make a template using the cardboard from the tile box and transfer it into the tile. It always fits 1st time, but everyone works differently and whatever works for you is great. With regards to the de coupling membrane, have you tried BAL Rapid mat on screed floors? It requires a lot less adhesive and can be filed onto straight away. More expensive than Ditra or Durabase, but saves you money on adhesive and time on the job.

@SkillBuilder
@SkillBuilder 6 месяцев назад
I had some advice from Ardex who told me that with a flexible tile adhesive and a small room, such as a kitchen, you don't need a decoupling membrane. Talking to Schluter, who make the membrane, they say that if you want to avoid trouble use one. If you don't have room for the build up then just make sure you prime the floor and use a good flexible adesive and grout and, importantly allow a 10mm expanison gap around the edges of the room.

Would eliminate and lips and in large tiles like that which can bow keeps them dead level with the tile next to it no lips and flat they are great! Saves taking them back up trying to get a bit more adhesive under tile getting messy ect or struggling to push one corner down , wouldn’t do a floor tiling job without them now

I got both boxes home and laid them loose on hallway floor to admire my splendid choice and good taste then found that every tile was bowed. I checked all the others in both packs and every tile was bowed. They were about £60 or something which I don't think is cheap for 6 tiles per box. Too right multi tools have to be the noisiest tool around. Can’t believe he’s using the grinder without the guard I’ve had a diamond disc fracture before now. Without the guard there’s only one way the bits are going.
