I love the FL Sunshine Illucium also. It is better for the shade or part shade...gorgeous color like this one!

I have 70 of these planted in a hedge. About 35 are brown and losing leaves, the rest are beautiful. I am not sure what to do to help them. Any suggestions please.

I have the same problem. Ordered two from southern living, brown spots covered a few plants that progressed to the rest of the plants. The leaves turned brown and looked dead within 2 weeks. I don't quite understand. I'm in southern California, so the weather is too dry for any kind of fungus to thrive.

@@SouthernLivingPlants I have the exact same problem. I planted 10 sunshine ligustrums last year and they grew fast, flourish, and tripled in size. Over the winter you could see some orange tinting on some of the leaves, which was expected. This spring they flourished again and became bright yellow, but late spring I started noticing some of the leaves were dropping and some of the leaves were turning brown. They do not look healthy at the moment, 6 of the 10 that I planted currently has this condition. I am looking for any recommendation for remedying this problem.

@@SouthernLivingPlants my sunshine ligustrum plants are looking horrible. No they have not flushed out. They are dying.

I bought two of them last fall and planted them in blue pots and they were beautiful! I'm in zone 8 but still covered (big trash bags) them when we got some really cold nights. In the spring they started dropping leaves. I moved them around into a brighter location, fertilized them, watered frequently and they are so big and full I am going to need to prune them a bit. I hope they continue to thrive because they really are a new favorite for me!
