So, I understand that calls you have the right but not the obligation to excersize the contract. And on expiration day you can let it fizzle out. But with Puts, do you not now owe the broker the 100 shares back? Therefore you have to buy the 100 shares if you still have that contract by the expiration date?

My question for Selling Options is do you need to have the underlying stock in order to sell Calls or Puts options? And what does not enough collateral to cover or buy? Thanks for the video, I have few question regarding pdt, and spread strategies if you can help with: With put and call vertical spread, opening any spread is counted as 1 trade, so for closing would be another trade, so if I’m closing within 5 days, it’s 2 trades on same day, what if I let spread expire, is that counted on same day trade?

I’m on a level 2 options on my Robinhood account. When I got to buy a call option I don’t see a premium price on the rice hand side, and when I click on any call it will show me the x100 share, bid - ask, and min credit screen. But my bid- and ask prices isn’t there. So how do I trade options if it isn’t there? I can type in manually but how do I even figure out the bid-ask price? This is on every option weather it’s buy and sell and call it a put. Someone please let me know

I have a question for you. If I sell to open a put and someone buys it, I collect the premium it was sold for. Now if the person who bought it starts to lose money and decide to cut there losses and sells to close is the trade 100% finished? I keep the premium and they take the loss?

Question - So I know you say you should rarely exercise your options and should just sell the contract back. Let's say you have a a call for $20 strike price and the stock is at $30 the day before expiration date and you sell the contract. Wouldn't you be screwed if the stock increases the next day? Then you'd have to sell 100 shares at $20 to the buyer when it might be $40 now.

hey man i watched another video from someone else and i have a question because he was saying at market price.... i want to my option to execute and give me the shares. So my question is, if i buy a stock a option at a strike price of .50 cents each, and its trading at 18 dollars now, does it charge me .50 cents for 100 shares? or does it execute and charge me for 100 shares at 18 dollars each?

What happens when you “sell” a “call” for lower than then the share price? Aka the bars with the highest premiums? Do you get your shares back if the price doesn’t go from say 25 (share price) to 23 (strike price)? A lot of these premiums are really high on the bottom under “sell call” and really high on the top on “sell out”. What happens.

So if I buy the put and then sell it 2 days later a week before expiration just to take quick profit who is on the hook for the put if it gets exercised? The original seller of the contract or the last person to sell the out contract? Absolutely nobody has an answer to that question

If you sell a put you're basically writing a contract that someone else will buy to open. You'll collect the premium from the buyer and get to keep all of it if it expires worthless. If it expires ITM and you get assigned you'll be long 100 shares of the underlying asset. Extremely risky considering how huge having to buy 100 shares at higher than market price would be

If the put is in the money and you want to excercise it, does one need to have the balance to cover the cost of the entire 100 shares? (2,000)Or can you somehow just walk away with the difference without having to own the stock or owning it temporary just to flip it. Thank you.

I just watched your videos and bought a put for Ford for $19 total and it says my return is +$9.00 but it hasn't gone below break even. If I sell do I get the $19 back plus $9 or just the $9 and I technically lose money?

Nope, only if you buy and sell the same security in the same day. Ex: buy then sell a 50 strike 4/20 call Ex: buy then sell 10 shares of AMD

Actually the opposite I think. You hVe to wait a lot longer and put up a lot of money up front to make $$ on buying stocks. With options you can put up little money and make a lot quickly if you buy the right call options.

Hi to all the Robinhood community users, i just have a question, if im a US citizen (born in the US) with my social security number and american passport, but i dont live or have a bank account in the US at the moment, could i still open an account with them if i open an online bank account to fund and withdraw my money? in case they ask me an address, can i just give an address of a family member? I had a question about a credit spread on robinhood. If Tesla is trading at 596, realistically could you not sell a put at 490 and buy a put at 470 expiring this Friday. I used a profit calculator and it said my profit would be 111$?? Realistically no stock is dropping that fast, or I could even drop the strike prices even lower. So as soon as Fridays market closes I have made a profit of 111$ assuming that's the profit from the calculations? Am I getting this right?

Michael L'Hommedieu I’ve heard people repeatedly say find companies you know about or use their products therefore you’re already familiar with their business practices. For example if you play video games you can look at Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo etc. An airline you use when you travel - delta, southwest and so forth. As a beginner you can keep your watch list relatively small 5 or 6 stocks and then get into fundamental and technical analysis of those and make your moves based off of the strategy you develop (risk tolerance and profit goals etc)

Do you mostly use robinhood? Most of your vids seem to focus on it. I only saw a couple vids with thinkorswim. I was thinking of using them or webull. The reviews on robinhood isn't really great looking on the play store so my trust in them is slowly fading. And I use M1 for my long term investing. I want to get into trading though.

GloriousButt Robinhood is user friendly. All platforms have pros and cons. RH is a a start and there’s plenty of RU-vidrs have over 100k invested in RH. Think or swim is a good platform too it’s just a little more technical vs RH.
