To those who are struggling with the problem of can't use save state or load a save, if you go to "file > save games > load temporary save games" you can choose the save you're trying to load.
I know this video is already a long time ago but I'm thanking you now because I can use this to play pokemon fire red again because I want a golem. Thank you man
To anybody who got this to work the first time but couldn’t get it to happen again afterwards, I just restarted my computer and reopened mGBA. I now have all three starters for Kanto!
@@riji7513 I don’t think it lets you do that. You’ll have to save the game the old fashion way by hitting start and saving within the game itself. Then once you open the rom within a new window, you should be able to open that save from the start menu.
@@lewisstrongofficial Oh I already fixed it thanks, I converted my .sav file to .sa2 and I when i try multiplayer it worked!! Unfortunately I have to earn all badge and complete the game to be available on trading on Emerald and trade Pokemons to FireRed. because I want to trade a pokemon that is not on the regional pokedex means that it is exclusive only on emerald and not available on FireRed.
@@riji7513 I just recently came across a similar issue lol I was gonna try getting the exp share from one of my FireRed Pokémon so I could quickly evolve my Emerald Pokémon
So I keep trying to get this to work, but it just keeps getting stuck on "Please Wait ... ... B Button: Cancel" and nothing else happens. Any idea what my issue might be? No one else seems to know
same here, fire red save is completed game including the sevii islands, and ruby is a fresh game with a few pokemon, but in ruby the Please Wait ... ... B Button: Cancel" sentence stays on.
I had the same issue. This happened to me when I loaded "Pokemon - Fire Red.GBA" into Player 1 and "Pokémon FireRed.gba" into Player 2. Both are the same game but from a different folder (even same file, not different sources, I just copied and renamed one of them after copying.) but I think the problem was they were named different. For me the working solution was: Load the same ROM from the same folder. But if you use different ROMs, load them from the same folder, I think that will solve it. (I used "Load alternative save file" for Player 1 because I wanted to trade into my Retroarch save from an mGBA save (Player 2) [So I was trading starter pokémons into my Retroarch save] so be careful if you also want to trade from FireRed to FireRed because if you created both your save files in Player 1 mGBA slot, you can overwrite it accidentally, this maybe can be avoided to rename one of .sa1 savefile to .sa2, but I didn't test it, so again, be careful)
When I try this, with Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green, they don't find each other. They stay forever at "Please wait..." Are there any additional settings I need to do? I use WIndows 10, if this makes any difference...
@@narutopig2363 i need helps, i opened both window with same game playing and some reason both doesnt find each other but both has different save file on them only same game is on it.
I got it to work on the first try, then closed the other window too soon, it glitched, and I had to reload. Now it only says "please wait" no matter what I try...
@@davidtucker9498 Same. My first try let me trade, but every time after I couldn’t. I’m trying to get all the starters, so I started a new game on the 2nd window but it just says “Please wait…” whenever I try to trade.
Very finicky. Tried for hours before I got it working. Some tips. How I got it working. Same game. Leaf with Leaf. 1. Load the game (say a save state for starters)you want to be (trash). Make a save in game. 2. Exit mGBA I copied the whole folder with the ROM and save. Pasted into a new folder I'll trash later.( For starters) 3. Load back into your main game make another save in game. ( override the trash save you may have made earlier.) 4. Exit mGBA. If I didn't I'd often crash or freeze. 5. Restart main game but don't load the game just chill on main screen. In mGBA click start multiplayer like video. 6. In multiplayer window load the copied ROM from the trash folder we made. Again if I used the same ROM for some reason it didn't work. 7. Then in multiplayer window in mGBA file load other save file, one from trash folder, just like video. 8. Now's a good time to adjust controls in multiplayer window. 9. Now In both windows hit start then load the saves from in the game. Link should work. Might be over complicating things but every time I miss one of these steps i just sit at waiting for other player on both games or it just flat out crashes. Or fails to load.
greetings, i tried it today with firered and leaf green, but no chance .. no connection after saving the game :/ is their something i miss? used last version, multiplayer window e.g. .. thanks
this is the only video i can find that shows how to do this, but now i'm having a problem that i just can't fix for some reason im trading between two emerald copies, both have at least 4 badges, and when i do everything in the video, both copies will tell me that my "wireless adapter isn't connected properly", even though i've gotten them both to trade before. does anyone know of a way to fix this?
idk if this is still a problem for you but you're supposed to use the cable connection not the wireless one, go to the woman at the far right of the room and she should allow you to go in.
If I try to trade it will say that in Emerald I am not ready to trade yet, I have 4 pokemon and one abra. In Firered I have the national pokedex and gave the saphires to Celio. Anybody has any clue why I cant trade?? :)
Hi, wanna ask when I open "New Multiplayer Window" and "Open Roms" to select Pokemon Version the window game become white/black? how can I do fix it? or any setting i need to do before using "New Multiplayer Window"?
@@christianjoshuatanedoday8793 well mgba is a very hard emulator to trade with, what heppend to me is that i open my original save (red fire) then i had to open this new window thing , then the emulatorwas just black/white when i try to open leaf green so i waited like 10m then leaf green open just randomly some time it takes 3m some times 10, i start playing leaf green untill i can trade then i traded my huanter and kadabra and trun them back, for some reason when you open those 2 gamese together on the same emulator, the emulator just dont let you put your save game so you have to play leaf green untill you can trade insted of just putting a saved file. Anyway i hope it helped you.
@@ofirsh69420 I found out how to fix this problem, and I'm happy to share this with you :-). Would you like to have my Sav.file? Open multiplayer option with another BIO - Leaf Green. 2. wait for a while for the game on the second window to operate *make sure the emulator is not paused (it's in the emulation tab) 3. check [sync to audio] again Bonus* Have an old xbox controller plugged in via USB - Control one game via Keyboard and one via controller - hope this helps

if you mean having two of the same saves, I think what you need to do is make a copy of both your save and ROM (.gba file) and rename both to something else
to trade from kanto to hoenn you need to first complete a side quest on 1/2/3 island not 100% sure but i think you can do the side quest when bill talks to you after beating blaine
i think it might not be possible unfortunately, crystal and silver are on a different emulator system (gameboy color?) and this is for gameboy advanced
Can you do this with two copies of the same game? I wanna get a true 100% complete Heliodor (an Emerald expansion hack) save file. If not, then I'll have to take my ruby and/or sapphire rom(s) to finish the dex (trade evos and starters)
internet is not required (well except for downloading the actual software and watching the video) the two emulators are both connected via your computer, so you don't need internet for this to work
@@SonnikSpeedChannel mGBA can play GB and GBC games, I'm currently playing Yellow Version and trying to figure out if I can do it on that. No luck so far
Help. Please. Every time I try to get a new multiplayer window open I open the FireRed Rom and it just goes to Blank White screen. I tried resetting the first window but it just makes it to where I cant load State Files for EITHER window and I am really confused. What the hell am I doing wrong? If it makes any difference im trying to trade pokemon on the same ROM but trying to use 2 different download links. Its the same game (FireRed) and it's just not working.
So btw I actually did find a fix. You save game in the game. I got a ROM for leaf green to make this work. So save on both, then go new window, reset and go to your save just like on the ds.
