I came here after watching a video from a woman who accepted and interact transaction and they tried to steal her money. I think it needs more security than what this lady is saying.
Good question! I started out using one account, so automatically the email let me deposit into that account. Afterwards I opened a second account but rarely used it.
My friend in Canada sent me 50 dollars through Interac but I am herw in Mexico and my current email and phone number is not linked to any of my bank accounts. Anybody know what I can do to get the money?
If I remember correctly, you can cancel it on your side through the app you're using, as long as the recipient hasn't received the money yet (if they don't have autodeposit on). If their autodeposit is on then the money is instantly deposited, it will be difficult to retrieve it.
When you set up an account, you usually have to input your primary email address, so your interac transfer (to yourself) would link to that. I'm not sure if that's the exact mechanism behind the scenes though. If you had 2 accounts, then I think there's a way to link your interac payments to one of these accounts, but I've never tried it. Anyone who has done this, feel free to comment!
I've never tried that, sorry! But as far as I know interac only works within Canada. You could use a service like "Wise" to send money overseas, you can check out my video on that.
