Good video - IF when uploading / restoring the backed up information (conversations) etc and that RESTORE screen doesn't pop up how do you get around that? is there a restore in the settings as I can only see "backup"

my problem is that all my data has been copied from S10+ to S22+ except for whatsapp, but the whatsapp on my S10 would be backing up non stop, how do i delete the 16G backup size and have a fresh start instead?

Sorry, this will be quite long: I just changed a new phone, and already use the watsup at my new phone for a few days now. Recently I want to retrieve an old message, so I went back to my old phone, but couldn't find them. Since then, new messages keep appearing at my old phone, so I use backup for the latest updates. I changed back to my new phone now (I'm typing in new phone) but the latest messages not in my new phone. May I know how to combine both my old and new messages to my new phone? Thanks.

I used new phone with whatsapp but I was able to access my whatsapp on old cell phone but only immediately after WhatsApp was unregistered on old cell. I was prompted to say if I really wanted this, So I verified and went back into old whatsapp and downloaded to google (but new phone WhatsApp got unregistered). The new whatsapp didn’t have much new information so I didn’t lose anything on new WhatsApp.

My problem is very unique. I can't access the settings in What's app as it is found at the top of the phone. None of my icons in the top 2 inches of the screen work since it got SMASHED. AND to top things of the screen will not rotate also, so I can't move those icons around. any thoughts or suggestions out there.

Try to somehow do that thingy where you can open multiple apps at once. Like on a computer, so the app doesn't take up the whole screen. Maybe that way u can access the 3 dots

@@vvince5543 I did it. Firstly, I backed up the chat in my google account in old phone. After that,I removed the sim from old phone, I placed it(old number) to my new android phone. Then in the new phone, I installed Whatsapp and open account with the old number. There I backed up all the messages (still using the old number) from the same google account. Lastly, after backing up messages, I changed the old number using ' Change Number' option in Whatsapp. Then I removed old sim from new phone. In this way I changed both phone and number.

I'm really frustrated... I'm trying to transfer my WhatsApp chats from my old android phone to my new one, but it's not letting me. It's saying on my old phone that I need a sim card to get a code from my phone. My Sim is already in my old phone, but it keeps saying there's no Sim card. I don't know what to do 😫 Can you help me?? I have followed every single step in your video (and countless of others, included the one from WhatsApp itself) but I still can't get my chat history to show in my new phone. Here are the details: I had a Samsung Android Galaxy J7. Shortly ago my provider (AT&T) contacted me to say it was not G5 compatible so it would not work after sometime in 2022. They said the SIM was outdated so they would send me a new one, but as a bonus, they'd also throw in a replacement phone (a Samsung Android Galaxy S9 -not the latest but it's a free upgrade, right?). The new phone has the same number as the old one -just a different chip. When I received the new phone, before installing WhatsApp, I went to my old phone and did all the chat backup steps you mentioned. It confirmed my chat history was now stored in the Google drive. I then removed WhatsApp from my old phone. Went to new phone, downloaded WhatsApp and installed it w/o problem. When I opened it, it said it had found a chat backup and did I want to restore it? Yes. When it was done there was no old history there, just my last 2 contacts I had last texted. I rebooted and.. same. Any hints/suggestions? Thank you so much!

check ur whatsapp backup because sometimes it just backups to ur internal storage not google drive. It says under the backup button

I noticed that you said you removed WhatsApp from your old phone. Perhaps there in lies the problem. You possibly wiped out your back up when you removed WhatsApp from your old device.

Local is in your phone(you can only access it from that device) but Google is in the cloud. (You can access it from any of your devices. Laptop, tablets , cellphones etc.).
