I cut down some black locust and counted the rings. I was shocked at how fast they grew at 15 years I got a ton of firewood. Then at 30 years the tree was almost too thick for my 18 inch saw to cut down. Then after that 5 yrs later the trees grew back from the stump to a height of about 15 feet with two inch diameter. One tree stump spawned two or more new trees.

And those new trees will grow even faster because it uses the old root system. It’s a great species.

RU-vid audio library. On RU-vid studio near the bottom on the right side...I always select happy tracks. I also try to put the name of the track in the description every time. Steal it if you must. 🤣

hi again, one more question (for now, hee hee): can i plant black locust trees now? now being today, june 23, 2022, beginning of summer, but with global warming, smack dab into the dead of summer in north carolina? will they take? i saw some small ones on etsy but don't want to waste my money if i should wait. thanks again.
@CopperheadRoadHomestead
@CopperheadRoadHomestead 2 года назад
I don’t think I would plant them in their home right now. You could probably plant some small ones in a pot and keep them shaded for a couple of weeks before putting them in direct sun and they might be fine. I would definitely wait for winter unless you’re wanting to plant it in a shady spot.
@VintageVibesHomestead

That's crazy that you can even just take a section of the roots not the whole root and it will still survive end grow a tree! I gotta get me some great trees planted this year I think
