Forner aircrew member here: set the gmt hand to UTC. Leave it there. Set your hour hand to your local time. Leave it there. Use the 24 hr scale on the bezel insert to set local destination time. It’s a lot easier to adjust the bezel insert to a destination time (and easier on the watch) than it is to constantly pull the crown out to jump the hour hand. This particular Airman you have is one of a very few gmt watches made that is specifically for international travel. I begrudge no one for liking gmts because they look cool, or need a ‘true fidget spinner’, but at least know how they were intended to be used.
