Niacinamide prohibits the melanosomes from distribution. There are not many known inhibitors of melanosome distribution. As far as inhibiting tyrosinase, niacinamide doesn’t work as well as butylresorcinol or hydroquinone. And finally, exfoliation and retinol/tret are great ingredients to target the pigmentation that has already become visible on the skin
@@wiseowl1580Have you watched Doctorly? One of the Dr started a brand called Remedy. I just started using Remedy for dark spots, it's less than $40. I have nothing against this Dr, but her products are much more expensive- almost $70.
Hi! Could you please talk about hypertrophic scars and cheloids in a future video? Specifically why and how they are formed, and how to avoid them from forming. Thank you!
And what ingredients do we need to look out for, Dr? Pls I hope you see this. The answer to my question was what I expected before watching your video 😢
Alpha arbutin, vitamin c, niacinamide, tranexamic acid, licorice, glycolic acid, to name a few - they target different pigment pathways like she said and can be used in combinations. Pretty sure she has made some videos on those ingredients too but idk which ones.
Above answers are missing ingredients that inhibit the distribution of melanosomes. There aren’t a lot of known ingredients that accomplish this, but niacinamide is a popular ingredient that does!
Dr. Idriss, you have become my most reliable source of TRUSTED and reliable skin info and just appreciate all that you do soooo much. I saw in one of your other videos that you don’t recommend infrared saunas for people with melasma or hyperpigmentation issues. Do you avoid using LED masks or devices too?? Or do you find those to be “safe” for those of us struggling with this condition?? Lastly, what are your thoughts on Tesla High Frequency tools?? I used one of those everyday while in esthetics school and then purchased one for home use…the more I’m learning from you I’m beginning to wonder if this is what started my melasma in the first place…possibly it generated too much heat for my skin?? Im really eager to know what you think about this so THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. ❤❤❤
Could you please make a similar video for post inflammatory erythema? 🙏🏻 how can we “attack” persistent red marks/redness from different angles? What are the relevant angles when treating P.I.E.? Thanks for all your videos 💜
All you amazing doctors on RU-vid gave me inspiration. I thought that I just had to live with not being happy with my skin, until I stumbled across a derms video (I watch u all now) I have a skin care routine and I’m seeing a dermatologist. Seeing the results and the huge improvement made me realize that I didn’t have to suffer. That there is things you can do that make a difference. So thank you ❤
Okay what is the answer!! Omg I was sooo excited to see this video and it contained nothing. Lol we HAVE melasma help us get the right ingredients I’m desperate!!
Why don't you check her channel and then comment about more knowledge! It's a short video why there would be so much though she had done thousands of video on melasma and hyperpigmentation
Okat give us the answers. Waiting.... that literally is my skin I hate going outside in the sun or even if I spend a good 30 minimum outside I get dark sun spots on my face.
My sunblock melted off(didn’t realize it was out date😳), I didn’t notice until I got home and 🫣😳…my face was streaked. I washed it thoroughly and now realize the streaks are suntanned. 😲😳🤭🤣😂 We all laughed and laughed except it’s now been months and although the streaks are gone I still have some discoloration on my cheekbone area. 😒Not so funny now 😁
Can you make a video about eczema in brown skin ? I have eczema on my body and face (around the mouth ) and i struggle with fading the hyperpigmentation without drying the skin and ending up with an eczema flair up 😩😩😩
You can use these products for any age and stage to address pigmentation concerns. Age is not a skin type. Work to address what concerns you have for your skin and establish a consistent routine, and it will pay off dividends. It's never too late to start.
I get the justification for anti-aging stuff like wrinkles and sagging skin. But what's wrong with having pigmentation? Is this for treating something more serious?
Do you have any recommendations for scent free, oil free face masks ? Both to hydrate and another to purify. I’m tired of sheet marks having alot of oils that break me out and I’m tired of clay masks have a lot of fragrances in them or do you not recommend them at all ? ❤
Ive been to 2 dermatologists in the last week and I got more information and feedback from your videos. You figure San Diego would have decent dermatologists. But no, just another number….
