I’ve dealt with and am dealing with kittens who have Ringworm and cat flu. The first ones I tried the Lime Dip, creams etc. with no results. I came across on RU-vid concerning using Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. I wiped them down with it once a day as well as putting it in their water to drink. It was cleared up and gone within two weeks. One thing I noticed is one can tell if they still have active Ringworm by how your hand feels when you pet them. It feels just like little pinpricks, as though something is trying to get into your skin. The kittens I have now I’m doing the coconut oil as well as Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. Plus natural pet Antibiotics. One thing I’ve noticed and makes it nice is the coconut oil reveals where the ringworm sores are so one doesn’t have to shave the whole cat. I did the shampoos for two months with the first kittens and after no results and traumatized cats I decided not again. They will get a bath…after the ringworm is gone and the sores are healed.
Thanks for this info. I recently adopted a kitten with ringworm and the rescue foster seriously downplayed the situation and did not take these treatment protocols. She only applied a topical treatment on the visible infected area, but did no all body shampooing or lime dip, and did not do a culture to confirm the kitten was negative. So now the I'm learning all this, I feel severely mislead and am panicking that there is ringworm in my house and my family and older cat will catch it.
I had a litter this year that only developed ringworm after the fleas got really noticeable (we don't actually have much of a flea problem usually, but this year they got bad for a bit) and the glowing hairs showed up where the flea bites were. It certainly made sense to me that the fleas breaking the skin paved the way for ringworm infection at those sites, on otherwise healthy kittens.
Great video. I'm living in Türkiye and the most popular ringworm treatment here is ecosin washing. I don't know why. And they don't recommend any oral antifungal. My cat has ringworm for 15 days and they just gave immun supporter. Ringworm was in one tiny place, now it is on 4 different places. I am really sad. I am starting enilcanozole dip and topical antifungal cream now, I hope 15 days wouldn't be late...
What kind of proper house cleaning do I need to do? Do I need to move all furniture and get every nook and cranny? My rats have ring worm to my kids and possibly our cat. I cannot go to a vet at this time. I dealt with this about 15 yrs ago from a kitten we took in and it cost me a ton of money. I’d like to try and remedy this situation without a vet. Last time the vet just gave me a medicated shampoo for the kittens and the cat in the home as well as told me to put a topical ointment that you can get over the counter on them. Would Davis Miconazole Pet Shampoo, 12 Oz work? It had good reviews on Amazon. ? If not can I get some links to products that do work best? I’m concerned about the like silver dip staining etc as I tend and cannot afford for it to ruin anything in the home which I’ve heard many people leave reviews about such. Please help I’m desperate and overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin. My kinda and I also have it.

I found 2 tiny kittens that were discarded. The youngest one was still nursing (now fully weaned) but has missing fur around her face, neck and tail. The 2nd kitten was already weaned but he has it all over. I have 6 rescues i must be very careful with and just cannot afford a vet at this time. I looked for the Lime sulphur dip, the keto shampoo but couldn't find it. I had used organic apple cider vinegar in the past with success. So i have started dabbing diluted solution all over twice a day. I checked for any physical reactions and both are fine. I am in the Caribbean and those products just are not available here. If you can suggest something over the counter it would help much. Thank you😊
Thank you so much for this! I suspect one of my cats has ringworm and I'm really worried about reinfection. I am off to my vet to ask for oral meds as well as doing the dip, but can you tell me what is the best way to disinfect the house? There's so many different opinions... Should I throw away all my cat trees, carpets and cat toys along with the brus? I plan on spraying and wiping with an accelerated hydrogen peroxide product and bleach, but I'm not too sure what I can do with by clothes and my mattress other than washing them... My cats live with me so they walk about everywhere and sleep in the bed.
Hello, our kitten has ringworm and we havr been treating with itraconazole and shampoo from the vet + cleaning for about a week. However, the shampoo that the vet gave us only has 4% Chlorhexidine and nothing else! Was 20$ also. Its called ProHex and does state on the label that it is antifungal and is used against ringworm. We have washed the kitten 3 times with it, leaving shampoo in for 10 mins and then I spot treated with miconazole every other day too. So the question is - is the 4% chlorhexidine alone effective? Or is our vet just ripping us off? She also only told to bathe him once a week but we are ignoring that and bathing twice. Another question about cleaning - cat was running aroud everything including couch and carpet and wardrobes. Do we throw everything out? There is no way I could fully sanitize everything. Are few spores super contagious to newly cured cat? Because we have a new couch.... Sorry for lengthy answer, thanks A LOT for your videos!!!! ❤

Great video overall... though your understanding of probability and statistics used in clinical studies is pretty shocking. That first study you presented showed no significant difference between treatments, because there were too few cats involved to be confident that the result was not down to pure chance.
I currently have a cat (2 years) with ringworm that I’m treating with itraconazole and lime sulfur baths. I have another cat (6 months) who has no ringworm spots on him but I’m afraid he’s a carrier because they’ve been together the whole time. I’m also wondering if he brought it into the house because I got it too. Would Miconazole and Chlorhexidine baths be a good idea for him just to make sure it isn’t living on him?
