I have a calico female 3 years of age. She has allergies that have her itching, scabbingarpund face, neck, chin and sides of her head behind eyes leading to ears and her poor eyes get infected. This happens often . I've taken her to the vert several times, she's had shots, cortisone, ear drops, eye ointment but nothing seems to get rid of it for more than two weeks max, usually 5-7 days later she is itching and scabbing up again. I've got her on a fatty acid diet from the vet. A brand they sell. Still showing the same results. All I want is her to be comfortable and every visit to the vet is almost 300$. To do specific tests to find out what she's allergic to will cost me 1100$ at LSU and I just don't have that. Can anyone share a similar experience or guidance to help me know what to do for my Gretchen? She's such a sweet cat and so kind, it's not fair. I don't know what else to do for her. She doesn't have fleas. Indoor cat. I comb her daily.

So does she need the antibiotics every 2 weeks or just the one off? My cat is suffering bad, it almost looks like psyroisis forgive the spelling, I'm bathing him weekly in dermititus shampoo for cats.

My cat is really friendly, and cuddly. But when it comes to washing, or clipping her hair, she whines and complains constantly.

When i got her at the shelter she had so many issues like herpes in her eyes, FIV, and cuts/scratches all over from living on the streets here in Chicago. She was so aggressive with *all the staff & other cats/animals* in this "no-kill shelter" that they were going to send her somewhere else to be euthanized (prevent spread of FIV on streets & shelters thru aggressive behavior). Somehow by the luck of the Irish 🍀 i randomly came in after a horrible failed engagement 💔 with newborn that wasn't mine after spending the last 9 months sober working 12hr days 6 days a week. I was at wits end and ready to give up on life. I specifically asked for one that had as many problems as me so that we could maybe help each other out a lil. So they led me to a small room away from everyone/everything else and warned me before i went in that she might bite or scratch me. But instead when i went in, we locked eyes and she just sat there. So i slowly approached her and held my hand out for her. She started purring and rubbing her head on my hand. The staff member said "dude... What the f***..?" I was a lil curious why they were so convinced she was so mean. They told me her horrible sad background story. Even though i worked alot, i also spent alot of time on the street and been thru alot, and i think we just vibed. So i took her home and after a s*** ton of expensive 🫰 treatments and love 'n' care she's just been the love of my life. When im not working she latches on to me like my shadow and vice versa. She even blocks the door and unties my boots as i try to lace them to go to work, which melts me and occasionally makes me late. One time in the middle of the night i couldn't sleep and she saw a tear running down my face so she literally wiped the tear from my face with her tiny lil paw. She's the best thing that ever happened in this world🤌. The first year or so she was still very very aggressive to anyone else that came to my apartment but now she is just a total sweetheart but a lil shy around strangers. Anyways thanks for helping these cats that some people rather give up on. 👌

My boy has the same skin allergy/ infection but not due to fleas. I’m not sure what is causing it. Scabs all over!! He has had the antibiotic shot along with a steroid shot but neither helped. I’ve even started making his food myself and got him off all can / dry food. Still no improvement!!😩 Has ANYONE had any luck curing your cat of skin allergies? I’ve tried medicated baths, medicated sprays on his skin , he’s currently taking CBD oil yet no improvement

I don't get why all veternarians that I've been to or seen on here for bugs on fur babies non has addressed their tail. It's negligence to our fur babies. I have seen many cats with their bodies in good shape but their tails are in horrible condition from fleas and or mites, with debris or worse. Spread their fur apart and take a look at their tail. This is why most pets don't like their tails touched because it hurts from all the bugs and debris. I haven't found one flea, tick stuff that covers their tail area.

How would this have helped anyone, let alone any cats??? You described what you were doing in the video and a little bit about why. But you didn't cover any potential causes of rashes or balding. You didn't mention anything that people could try AT HOME, this is just a "hey, look at me, I'm gonna help this stray cat". You didn't make this to help anyone or any cats other then the one in the video, you made it purely for yourself and your yt account. Stop wasting bandwidth and online resources with this crap.

Hello Doctor Linda , thankyou for helping these wonderful animals , there is a lovely stray cat in my area in the UK and she has the exact sam issue parts of her hair is falling out and she also has a little limp I can't reach a vet otherwise I would take her what do you advise I can buy online to put on her skin and eyes to help her ? My cat Lucy looks exactly like this cat. Her hair is coming out neck, rear legs and above tail, some on her face, I thought it was fleas but I use advantage 2 & flea comb as well as flea bath. Then I thought it may be allergic reaction to food I bought & nope did nothing. Now I guess we are off to our vet. We take care of tons of strays a couple have had watery eye discharge that's almost a brownish color when I clean it. Could it be due to herpes virus. I do what I can but I'm one woman on a budget, me and my 12 yo love cats.

Great video. I found your video when looking for help with a skin infection (fungus I believe) on our cat. We tried to treat it at home (before we knew what it was) with washing and anti-bacterial spray, but it didn't happen. We finally took her in to our vet and it was diagnosed as fungus (ringworm). So, now we'll be shampooing the regions and applying a spray. Here's hoping this will work. Thanks again.

i have been treating a stray with Revolution for 3 months, but he still has resolved the skin issues although a minor improvement. selamectin maybe i should try the zymox spray cortisone spray.

My cat has a large skin wound, like his skin is sore in a large area.. I don't know how to treat him so I just put disenfectants on the wound but it's just not healing for like 2 weeks now.. He's also trying to scratch it which make it worse. Please help, I'm so worried for him but I can't afford to take him to a vet.

What if it’s a fungal infection because if you give an anabiotic for a fungal infection, you are further wiping out the gut bacteria, and causing or precipitating a fungal infection. Also, if cats have parasites, especially scabies, when you kill off the scabies, with ivermectin, PO (by mouth) or transcutaneously (revolution topical) there could be a secondary fungal infection from the die off of the parasites, or from the immune system being compromised, and the gut bacteria being completely wiped out, so the parasites and potential fungal infection need to both be treated. My own vet, & multiple second opinions, in fact, had been ignorant, to the fact that my cat was suffering from a fungal infection secondary to a parasitic infection, scabies, and she started to smell funny, have patches on the skin and fur anomalies, and puffy, soft masses, under the skin, and I have them too, but a woods light would’ve gone a long way, in diagnosing the fungal infection that isn’t always ringworm, but also, my precious cats had fungal lesions, and yet, no medical professional was able to figure this out, and I had to do my due diligence, and do my own research, and bring it to the attention of my vet & medical doctors. Furthermore, what people also need to know is if your cat or dog has something like sarcophagus scabies/Mange and fungal infection, you can give both to the human parent, and you will pass it back-and-forth, between the pet and the human, as it is a zoological and mammalian disease. Topical treatments like revolution that contain Salumectin,not ivermectin, but both can be used for scabies/mange. However, topicals aren’t always enough, and sometimes the cats need to also take ivermectin orally, to fully rid them of scabies, and this is highly contagious among other pets, in the house, and the human, pet parents. I just went through this living nightmare, due to incompetent doctors and vets, so everybody, do your own due diligence because no One can know everything, not even a doctor or a vet, but some don’t even try, and so me and my poor😿fur babies went undiagnosed for so long, causing great damage, and even organ damage, and I nearly died from anaphylactic shock which happened multiple times, from these damn scabies. My skin also looks like it went through a meat grinder, you can see the mites and even eggs, under the skin and in the scabs, but you will also see the scabies, fall off, in bedding and the environment, and they look like little poppy seeds, and they can be super tiny and get bigger as they grow, and you can also see their eggs on the cats fur, that will hatch & cause another life cycle, until they are eradicated. So, one must be sure that the medicine kills all life cycles, the adults, larva, and the eggs. I can’t even believe there is still f flea medicines, on the market, that don’t treat all life cycles, and you would think that the vets would tell you this, but not always. The Takeaway, parasites are not benign and are eventually deadly, and antibiotics, such as convenia shots, aren’t the cure-all, especially not in the case of a fungal infection. Antifungals need to be given. I hope my post will educate and bless others so that they never endure the nightmare that my beloved fur babies, and I have gone through. We first started manifesting the same symptoms like nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, edema, heart issues, likely from the allergic reactions, and kidney disease, as well as kidney and bladder infections because the frigging mites go in every orifice of your body, not just in the keratin part of your skin, and they can also infiltrate any organ of the body. An animal or person can die from a secondary bacterial or fungal infection,/sepsis, & septic shock, and even get fungal or bacterial pneumoniaI, etc, and parasites can lead to other diseases like pancreatitis which will cause diabetes, and other organ problems, even on to death, and sadly, I lost five of my beloved babies, to scabies and Tape Worms that went undiagnosed or were improperly treated, so whenever a vet or dr. tells you parasitic treatment is a one and done deal, don’t believe it because it is not true, and I don’t know where they ever got this ignorant idea from, but if you don’t know enough or everything you can, even as a vet or a doctor, then you look it up and educate yourself. After going through one tragedy after another, I started taking courses on parasites, online, and I listened to as many lectures, on RU-vid, as I could, and even read medical and veterinary journals. This isn’t rocket science, like the medical industry wants us to believe, and the answers are all there, for anyone to find, but you would think that your doctor or Vet would know this, as they are held to a legal and professional standard, of knowledge and treatment, but it appears that most are very lacking, or I would’ve never experienced the trauma and nightmare of this, for many years, and in the last year and a half, with the scabies, if the medical professionals were truly competent and knowledgeable. I hope no one takes this lightly because I’m sure, though this is unintentional, this video trivializes this potentially deadly situation, and it is very deadly, make no mistake about it. I lost five of my babies, to parasites, and I have five, sick other babies, still being treated, and if I had an vehemently advocated for them and myself, with medical proof, because most vets and doctors couldn’t diagnose the situation. However, after one of my doctors truly listened to me, she could see what I was saying was true, but my vet, a 4th opinion, was still not on board, so my medical doctor wrote a note to the vet, & she had no choice, but to treat my babies,or it would’ve been reported, to the CDC and Board of Health because scabies is a highly contagious infectious disease that is eventually deadly.I hope this post blesses and spares all who read it, from the heartbreak and suffering that me and my beautiful babies have endured, at the hands of incompetence and ignorance. I am utterly devastated by the losses of my babies, and now, the suffering that my other babies are painfully enduring. Our suffering & loss could’ve been avoided, and I should not have had to be the one, to figure this out, for the doctors and vets who attended, at least eight years of schooling. Furthermore, vets see parasitic infections & infestations, on the daily, so there are no excuses because it seems more common with animals than humans. Finally, if your pet has fleas, count on them having Tape Worms, and if you are bitten, you should be treated as well, and so the fleas and Tape Worms must both be treated, even prophylactically. If anyone needs further information, I am happy to help. God bless all the animals of the world, as they are the love and light of God and this world, and they are helpless like children, so we must advocate for these innocent little ones, whom we often love more than our own lives and as much as our human family, as they are no less, and make sure they are treated accordingly and properly, as their precious lives are irreplaceable, and their loss is utterly devastating and heartbreaking.😿💔🙏💜🎁😺🐰🐶🐝🦋🕊💞

My cats belly got really red & welted after taking her to the vet for fleas. Now her belly is red and welted and I took her back. In one month I spent $500 for no relief.

Have the same type of cat, almost to the "T", and with the same type of skin problems. When she came to us she had no hair on her whatsoever: Ring Worm. We have taken her to the Veterinarian and he has done everything for her that he could: no ring worm now. Now, 4 months in, she is still in trouble with her skin although all of her hair is back. She is one sweet cat, but she is still digging at herself most of the time. Great Video, FR
