How to Trim a Layered Wig - Shown on Freedom Wig (Official Godiva's Secret Wigs Videos) 

This video was so helpful and timely. I went through all my wigs trying to decide which ones to give away. I never liked my Freedom because it is too much hair. Now I know what to do and if I do a good job, I will keep it. Thank you for posting.

Another great and helpful video. I never thought of cutting bangs at a 45 degree angle so I tried it on my Christi wig whose bangs were a tad too long and now they look much better. Thank you! Your model looks gorgeous! Two beautiful ladies. :-)

I appreciate this video. I am one of those 'older women" who like less hair. After seeing how I can trim Freedom to my liking and still have the cute style, I am considering buying Freedom. I also appreciate the suggestion of using a old wig to practice on. Thank you.

I got my first wig (Freedom) about 2 weeks ago - TONS of compliments but after having such thin hair for decades, I'm not quite ready for this much! (And you explain that so well is several of your videos - it made me feel "normal" for feeling this way - thank you!) I couldn't believe it when I searched for a video like this and you'd already made it! I tried to set up an appt with my hair dresser to trim my Freedom but she's on vacation - so - after watching this, I did it myself! I had ordered the thinning shears a couple of days ago so I was ready! I didn't trim nearly as much as you did (my husband was a bit leary of this!) but shortened the bangs, back and thinned the upper right where the crown is thicker due to the left part. So happy now!! Thank you for all the great videos/tutorials. I love the interaction between you and your daughter!

This helps a lot! I love my Carly wig I just got...it is a LOT of hair and I have a tiny face...I worried since it is a one length cut (bob), I couldn't get it thinned...oh I wish you were here Rochelle! I will have to ask my hair dresser, but if she is too nervous to cut/thin a wig, will call the consultant I found not that far from me...if she isn't comfortable doing it, perhaps she knows of a hair dresser who can make it more "me". My Kelly wig was too "apple heady" on top. lol. I did buy some thinning scissors and thinned it out on top. It's perfect now ! $13 at Walmart! 🙂

This is great !! I myself have ruined wigs that did not have bangs and I tried to add them .. The bangs did not behave at all the way I thought they would ...They refused to lay down even after trying to relax them with a hot roller brush ... so I now buy wigs that have bangs already or dont add them if they don't ... Hi Ro! I'm ready for my Monday Godiva Goodness and of course you didn't disappoint. I think we're connected on some psychic level. You actually made me BLUSH! Yes, I do run with scissors where my wigs are concerned. Most especially if for some reason I can't return a wig (OOPS! THE TAG CAME OFF!) I've even taken them apart and switched out part of one wig for another. But sometimes a wig's salvation requires more than my limited skills--or perhaps the wig means more to me than my eagerness to experiment. So here you are showing the magic of what a professional can do--and just a few days ago I trooped over to visit Julie, my hair goddess and favorite magical being, with four wigs under my arm! Not one of them looked BAD, but all of them could look BETTER. Certainly better than my mad scientist approach could do. When she's not busy, Julie loves to "play beauty parlor", meaning she has a client who doesn't tell her what to do, but instead trusts her eye, her skill, and her many years of experience. One of my wigs, London, is a stunning pageboy wig that must look amazing on a taller woman, but for 5'1" me just refused to lay properly in the back. Julie, like most fae, will grant wishes if you offer her the right bribe. "Can you fix it?" I cried, waving chocolate under her nose. With a wave of her scissors London's back was shorter, the sides blended into a slightly steeper angle, and the bangs no longer blinding me--things I could never do for myself (apart from the bangs--which I do all the time!) since I can't see the back of a wig when it's on! It's still recognizable as London, but it's London for DIANE. A bunch of gossip, laughter, and fun later all my wigs--which had already been beautiful--now were beautiful for ME! One was razored into a choppier top, another snipped into a great boycut, and all of them making me so happy. The thing about wigs, Julie reminded me, is to keep in mind that each snip is FINAL! So a stylist has to cut MINDFULLY. Please give my love to Jessica. I'd love to meet her someday. Be well, Joygiver, and be safe!

I’m going to have to try this with my Freedom! It’s just too bushy for my narrow, petite face. Need to use the hot air brush to tame the bubble top, too!

I am a very tall woman and you'd think a full wig would suit me but I do find Freedom a little too full on the top and too long on the bottom for my taste. This video was very helpful. I will talk to a hair stylist about trimming because I do not feel confident about doing it myself. Thank you. Your model is gorgeous by the way and so are you.

Beautiful! As a retired hairstylist, the thinning shears should always be about 2” away from the root.,if closer than that, the hair will be flat, it won’t lift, at least with human hair. Don’t know about synthetic hair.

Need a side by side, before/after. I was jumping back and forth to see the difference. 😁I really like the adjustments to an already lovely style! I confess, after watching hundreds of your videos, I just jumped in with both feet and made my third order (haven't received first one yet!!) but this time it was for wigs that had been altered. Bangs cut in and/or trimmed already. haha I figure it will give me a head start (no pun intended) on thinning and trimming. Hoping my 'girls' arrive Monday so I can start playing and MAYBE I'll stop shopping.🤗 I'm now waiting on 6 wigs and 2 toppers!!!! I want to take the 'girls' with me on my visit to my sis and auntie (we're all early to mid 50's with baby fine hair that's thinning). We are super excited to have a hair party and see what we can do with them!! 🥰

When COVID-19 hit & the beauty shops had to shut down I wasn’t able to keep my died hair color. So I had to let my hair grow out. That was NOT Pleasant for me. To my Shock-it came in as white as Casper the friendly Ghost !!! 😱 My husband likes it but I hate it🤮. I am Thankful that I have hair🙏🏻.Still today when I look into a Mirror I think who is the elderly lady looking a me ? I alway’s had med. brown hair with blond highlights. Rochelle I hope I am choosing the right wig & color . Freedom Nutmeg /F. I just want to feel like myself again. What a great video, thanks for all the great information! Can you explain the process of using the shears and moving up the hair stands when you thin instead of pulling down. I love your wigs! However what is holding me back from buying one is that I have purchased 3 wigs in the past from HSN and QVC and they were awful and I returned them. I feel I need to try several on before buying the right color and style. I am convinced after watching many of your videos that I could find the perfect wig and that having it trimmed to my face and neckline is a real must for me. I am in the process of shortening & thinning my Freedom the last 2 days. How are you cutting the top. Grabbing a little hair and just clipping it straight down with regular cutting shears and not your thinning sheers.
