You can see me throwing this bowl here: • Throwing a Bowl with B...

Hi Matt, your videos are indeed magnetic. I request and indeed it would be wonderful if you could prepare a step by step process video of centering, pulling and shaping; as your technique is much more easy to manage. Thanks.

Hi Matt! would you use the spoon to brush the interior too? or would you brush it outside of the wheel?

Matt, I couldn't quite hear what you used for the burnishing. Would you repeat it here? Thanks. Cheers, Chris

+Chris Amar Hi Chris, I use the back of a spoon for burnishing.

+Matthornepottery Ahh, thanks for that. It certainly does a great job. I've seen in some of his videos, Hsin Chuen Lin uses a polished rock to burnish his pieces after trimming, but the spoon seems to cover a larger area quicker, and an equally good job. Matt, I have to say that I'm happy I've found your RU-vid channel. You do amazing work, and I thank you for sharing your expertise with us. When you're in the States would you consider doing any other art centres beyond Dunedin Florida?

I"ve always wondered why you don't see many people burnishing on the wheel.

I have trouble with the machine I use when trimming its wobbly and pops my pieces off the wheel often but I don’t have money to get a brand new one today I lost two nice pieces because it threw the piece off the wheel even when I made sure it stuck down with clay

hi, in other videos you use a torch. For what is that for? thanks!
@ShineHatfield

The heat from the torch dries the clay a bit, making it easier to maintain the form. Other times, heat can be applied to dry the clay to get a very cool crackled texture on the outside.

使っている粘土は磁土ですか?陶土ですか?色から見ると磁土に見えますが、もしそうなら、とても難易度が高すぎますね!

This was a blend of porcelain and stoneware. I normally use porcelain.

磁土でそこまでやれるのは素晴らしい。処で、肝心な箇所でバーナーで炙る裏技感動的です。次回私も試みてみます。因みに轆轤は左回転ですが日本で修行はししていないのでしょうか?
