A demonstration of throwing a bowl on the potter's wheel using a blowtorch, taken from my recent Crystalline glaze workshop at Dunedin Fine Arts Center in Florida, February 2016.
Many thanks to Carl Leisegang for filming throughout the weekend and providing some of the footage used for this video.

Do you ever have a problem with the rim coming up while it's drying?

Can you post where you purchased your burner? All I can find are the long handled weed burners. I'd prefer something simple like yours. Thanks!

If you torch the pot, is the bottom more likely to crack due to uneven drying?

tarzan no, not I'm my experience. It's never dried to that extent

what’s the purpose of the torch? i notice you use it quite a bit when throwing
