Hey whats up someone just asked this question: @bowtieordiegarage1179 "I get how it works… but say I buy the tuner, it doesn’t say anything about what the tunes do. Say I put a CAI and a Header kit on, how does it know what to tune? Theres none of those buttons. Thanks "
These are great if you just plan on doing a tune, and that’s it. If you install headers and catback exhaust system, you should absolutely take it to a performance shop to have it dyno tuned, so they can also tune your TCM and not just your PCM. That way you can have them custom tune it to your exact wants and needs.
Great content. As a ZLE owner, I am a huge fan of the SS/1LE for it’s harmony and balance. You will be surprised how amazing it is on the track. Neutral and Beautifully balanced. Cheers!
@@RaceCarFriends No, the ZL1/1LE is terrible for the drag strip. There is no slop in the suspension. Barely any rubber in the chassis. This is a road course special. You should also take your car to a road course 😉
@@AllIsWell_22 Oh okay I didn't realize you had the 1LE ZL1, but yeah you're absolutely right, I plan on doing a road course here soon, I'll post the video once I do it.
That's dope that they double as a performance reader too. I see we got music too! I'm glad someone else sees the Camaro as 911 GT3ish. It's a perfect driving machine. The 1LE is very similar to the GT350. The main difference is power delivery. Can't wait to race my ZL1 to your tunes 1LE. Next channel car will be the Nissan Z?
Lol I know man that it pretty dope about the tuner, and yeah man I feel like a FBO SS 1LE would be right there with a GT3 in a drag race, and man I just can't wait to even see your car lol hurry up GM! And no that's close but it won't be the next channel car.
I get how it works… but say I buy the tuner, it doesn’t say anything about what the tunes do. Say I put a CAI and a Header kit on, how does it know what to tune? Theres none of those buttons. Thanks
@@RaceCarFriends couple more questions, do all Diablo products have the same tune ? I don’t wanna spend the 800 if I can buy the 400 dollar one an still have the same off the shelf tune you have
TBH it's possible, anything can damage your engine I'd advise against making any modifications to your vehicle if you're concerned about your warranty.
I ran a 12.1 quarter mile in my stock 2017 2SS 6 speed manual on Michelin pilots on a country BACKROAD. I'm gonna be in the high 11s on a Dragstrip. And i just ordered that Diablo Trinity Platinum tuner, JLT cold air intake, throttle body spacer, Borla Axle back exhaust NPP dual mode
So I know this product is not available in California, but let's just say I get my hands on one. When it's time to smog it will it still show on the smog test (and fail) that it was tuned at one point even though I would return it to stock settings? 2017 2ss
@Race Car Friends thanks bro, living here in California makes everything a little more complicated! Aside from turning the car (Roto-Fab CAI and Stainless works Cat-Back installed), I want to delete the reb limiter and the AFM. So this seems like a multi-purpose item to where I can hopefully put it back to stock for smogging. If that's the case then now I just got to figure out how to get one since they won't ship one to California 😅
A popular performance shop on RU-vid dynoes a tuner (like this one) then erased the tune back to stock, with the hand held tuner and gained power. They shown these things don't really work.
I actually took the tune off of mine too but for a different reason because I felt like it was pulling too hard up top and I wanted to calm the car back down, but now I feel like the car does feel faster overall but more so in the low end.
Hi, just a question about the sporttuner cause I have a 24 Camaro 2ss redline with a 6.2 manual, I put an intake but now I'm getting a code with the air mixing and the fuel do you recommend this for my car since you already installed it and how are things still holding your car with mods..
Good informative video. I have the same identical Black 1LE except mine is a 2018. Thinking of starting my channel as well. I have done significant amounts of mods to my whip. The hardest decision for me was weather to stay naturally aspirated or go forced induction, because the SS 1LE is such a Balanced beast at the track. Too make a long story short I couldn't pass up nor resist have an extra 150+ HP.
@@RaceCarFriends So you can datalog and send them to Diablo? Then they send you a revised tune? I have a 10sp 1LE. E-85, Lt2 intake, and Roto-Fab. Tuned before the intake and cold air. I just don't wanna drive 2hours to my tuner to get it done again.
@@bobbywilliams1823 Hi Diablosport don't do custom tunes, but there's a lot of pro tuners that uses their CMR software that you can do your data logs and send your files to and they will do a custom tune for you.
I have the same car. But my brakes are black and I have side skirts on the side. How do you get rid of swirl marks in the paint. I love my black Camaro, but I swear you can see every imperfections. Any advise will help, I scare to take to someone else. Because, I think they will fuck it up too.
Aww man that's a tough one, I'd say the best thing you can do is take it somewhere to get paint correction done, then have them ceramic coat it, then you can just hand wash it yourself afterwards.
Been thinking of what I want my next car to be. I want v8 power no Stang. Camaro is my first choice of being cost effective with the price hike now. I have kids that like to ride so I’ll have to wait on the vette. And the scat pack charger is over priced. Plus I always loved this machine
I actually only had the tune on for like 2 weeks then took it off, I actually traded out of the Camaro for a Type R but I didn't have any issues with the tune at all and the Camaro is still running strong with it's new owner.
So it doesn’t have preset tunes ?, I have a 2020 2ss all I want to do is an CAI, bigger TB and a car back, don’t really want to take it to a tuner just want something to make sure car runs well with the simple mods. Plus it is still under warranty so I would want to be able to set it back to factory.
Yes definitely it actually works even better on 5th gens I had a 2013 SS 1LE and threw the Diablosport tune on it and that car got a lot faster and felt way more powerful than even the 6th gen Camaro did.
@@RaceCarFriends it's my dad's he just got it and we where disappointed but I was telling him that they make tunes that removes the limiter and bumps the power
My car may be tuned already but I don’t know it came with a few bolt ons + a flex fuel sensor. Would it upload the tune that the car is currently running or would it upload the oem factory tune. I really have no idea if it has been tuned by the previous owner and if it has I’d like to compare to the Diablo sport
Hey from what I know they cover all of the 6th Gen Camaro's up til 2022 and they are currently looking for someone with a 2022 Camaro in central Florida to bring in their car to do a tune for the 2022's.
It is and sorry no I don't know if it will work on an I Pad I think it will need to be a computer, but I' not sure you'd need to contact Diablosport on that one.
15 hp from the 91 tune. And you definitely can feel the difference. Because of the insane amount of low end torque, I was spinning from a stop and I was feathering the clutch out. Insane power from this tuner. I only have a roto-fab CAI and a borla s type axle-back
Yes they have Mustang's beating out all the competition, as a Chevy guy I'm not that happy about that but yeah we all know how Mustangs respond really well to tunes and mods.
@@RaceCarFriends can you also use it to tune other people's camaro thats the same yours after you done tune yours already ? The reason I ask is because it could be a nice hustle
I heard changing the stock tune will void your warranty. That they can tell how many times the car has been turned on since the tune was changed so that even if you change it back to stock they will see the key turns and know its not the original tune.
From what I know you need to have an actual problem resulting from the tune for them to not warranty something. For example someone can install a tune and then take it right back off without having any issues with the car, how can they justify not warrantying something then if there's problems with the car later on? It has to make sense otherwise all tuning companies will go out of business.
Have you done a before after comparison with someone you've raced to see if it made a difference. I'm thinking about getting a diablo myself but I probably get the custom tune
@@RaceCarFriends thanks for the input , just wondering , I have a 2017 2SS with a 8 speed auto and there are 0 videos regarding Diablo tunes on that set up lol .. your cars nice though boss keep it clean
TBH I don't know, from what I've heard is that it can only void your warranty if it shows that the tune caused the problem that you're having with the car.
Yes to me that's the best thing about going with DiabloSport to tune your car you can take the tune off and put it on by yourself as many times as you'd like.
I was following Que The Chaotic however he kept changing vehicles . He even at one point got rid off his camero said he hated it .. I think he went an ti a helcat . Have not been on his channel in a while .
Hey whats up Donavan I'm glad you're here I appreciate your viewership, but just wanted to let you know that Que recently got a Rapid Blue ZL1 now so you should go check out his channel as well.
@@RaceCarFriends well ill check him out . I'm the low man on the totem pole . I only have a 2018 1LT v6 with the RS package . I'm going to Doba cat back delete but I heard the v6 doesn't faitmee well and no one wants yo tune then
Hi there's different programmers you can choose from I'll send you a link so you can choose the right one for you, this is for the 2021 model year though, if yours is a different year you can select it through the website: www.diablosport.com/shop/v/chevrolet/camaro-ss/2021/6-2l/
Lol I dunno I've driven a GT3 and yes the handling and refinement is better, but the sound and feel of the SS 1LE makes up for it as far as being fun to drive.
Is painful to see that car´s roof (and paint) being used as a working table. Why not take the time to cover it up with a towel or something smooth so not to scrath the paint with ?
Really it's your car and your money this programmer is over 500 dollars if you are wanting more power for your car for 200-250 dollars more you can find a good vehicle computer programmer that would be much better than this Diablo hand held programmer a good custom vehicle programmer can unlock more power than the Diablo can and if he's good and does a good custom flash to your computer you'll have more power throughout the entire operating range of the engine or power band including low and mid range and in the upper rpm range not saying the Diablo isn't a improvement over the stock tune a custom tuner can be more specific and change settings to extract more power than the Diablo can gaining power throughout the entire rpm range will return you a faster accelerating more satisfying car more so than just something that increases only the top end or upper rpm range I've had hand held programmers and custom flashed tunes there's a big difference in end results that are very noticeable even at part throttle compared to stock or hand held programmers
The good thing with this Diablosport programmer is that you can use it to monitor your vehicle, and you can also use it to get your car pro tuned as well, but they also have less expensive programmers that can be use to just tun e the car as well.
@@allenwang9950 I think your best bet is an aftermarket exhaust or maybe find a mechanic that can keep them open for you at all times. I think a muffler shop will have some resources on how to make that happen for you.
