Thanks for this! I did run into a block though. The only options I was given to move the mail to was "archive" and "trash". I did type "inbox" in the or selection, hoping that it will produce the same result. Anyone else have this issue?
Did not work for me as well. Spam folder still accumulating emails. With no disrespect to Rob, how many people got this to work? And why can't Yahoo give us an option to turn off their useless spam filter.
I run a small business and just checked my yahoo spam folder for the first time in a year. Almost had a heart attack seeing everything that was being put in there. So many emails that were NOT spam at all. Not good for business...
Thanks Ron. I followed your instructions exactly and the same email is still being sent to the spam folder. This started a few days ago. The sender email involved is a safe, known sender. I have received daily emails from this sender for years now with no issues. I've tried several things in an attempt to stop this to no avail. I deleted the contact then re-added. I've created filters and that didn't work either. I've emailed Yahoo and got no response. Any other suggestions are welcomed. Thanks so much!
same here... tried and retried every fix and none work. As fast as I mark not spam and/or return to inbox, it goes back to spam. Frustrating as this is recent development of email from business used for years.
Does not work wit ATT Yahoo mail. After a lot of searching I found this on the Yahoo site "All emails go through the spam filter before going through other filters. If your emails aren't in the correct folder, check your spam folder first." So the information here is WRONG and won't work. ------------- my original post ----------- There isn't an option for inbox in the drop down so you type it in manually and save it shows an error message "Failed to create folder" You have to type it in with a capital I "Inbox" if you type it any other way it will create another folder and route the mail there... maybe. I give up. I get all the crap in my inbox and half of the good stuff ends up in the spam folder.
Thanks, I tried the same, 6 month later, and stil not working. I do hope I find a solution. I don't need a spamfolder when using yahoo, as I rarely get spam. BUT quite a few times yahoo moves non spam messages into the spam folder. I didn't check my spam folder for years, now I understand why I hardly receive messages
Yahoo don't seem to want to fix this. Since you can no longer even filter to the Inbox, just redirect ALL mail to a gmail account were Google allows this. If Yahoo won't fix it, just use them as a proxy
all the sudden i started having regular business messages re-directed to my yahoo spam folder a few weeks ago (Apr 2022). why is this happening all the sudden? its really annoying. your fix did not work. please help
I finally got fed up with Yahoo, especially after they didn’t respond to my pleas for help. I now have gmail account and it’s working and not sending that one sender to spam.
for people who can't get this to work have you tried making a new folder and putting it inside the inbox folder? then have it move the msgs there instead of inbox which it won't let you do but you can put it in another folder or subfolder of inbox i think? I just did it but untested so we shall see.
Tried this, and got yet another false positive the very next day. I suspect the problem is that the filter looks at the name of the sender rather than the e-mail address, and of course the name doesn't have to have the @ character. I have messaged Yahoo about this, but I think they can't bring themselves to admit that their filtering is poor, and can create more problems than it solves (as it certainly does in my case, I get very little actual spam). Oh well, back to having to check what are effectively two in-boxes every day :(
This doesn't work anymore. Yahoo won't allow you to move mail into your inbox via a filter. Even if you type "inbox" as the destination, it will not save it in the filter
If I type 'Inbox' (without the two quotes), I get a correct red error message "Failed creating Inbox folder" (as Inbox already exists). But if I look at the filter I just created it does say "Deliver to Inbox if From contains @". So, it looks like the filter should work correctly When I send myself a message using my second email, and then mark this message (myself) as spam, it moves correctly into the spamfolder. But, when I repeat sending myself emails using the same email, yahoo moves it into the spamfolder (as unread) AND the filter just doesn't do it's job. So, trick from the video indeed doesn't work
Take this video down. This doesn't work anymore because "Inbox" isn't an option. Please stop spreading misinformation to get views. Your effort must've been appreciated when the information was accurate. Time marches on. Please keep up.
