what is the length of your Jon boat, I'm looking for ideas to set up my 10 ft jon boat for catfishing

12ft. I wouldn't put a 10 ft anywhere that gets rough. I've had some close calls in this boat

@@JonBoatRiverCats I'm willing to try it with the 10 ft, the river I go catfishing in really isn't that rough it has it's fair share of riffles, holes, runs and snags where ol' whiskers calls home.

@@Foust74 I take my little 10 fter everywhere including the Ohio River, you just have to be real careful of the weather and not be spastic. --she will tip and any significant water in her is bad news. Hunt up the older videos of a YT channel called South Creations, formerly South Outdoors. Back when he did fishing vids, he used his 10 fter on the Mississippi River. It can be done. All that said, I have used both and for some reason a 12 fter is a significantly more stable platform.

What I like about this is simple..just go fishing stuff. I don’t need all the latest greatest bs that I put on my 12.5 kayak. Honestly is distracts from my basic fishing instincts. I catch more fish when I keep it simple.. I have a problem keeping it simple. The stuff I have is cool and looks good but it doesn’t catch more fish unless I really stay focused. I love spending money but simple is always solid. Thanks for sharing for sure

I have the exact same boat! Did the foam float pods help much? My problem is when I stand up near the edge if there’s any wake on the water it can get scary real quick! Looking for a way to stabilize the boat a bit

They helped a lot. It also made the back of the boat sit higher in the water it was like 3 inches from the surface now it rides double that with the 15 horse outboard
