You teach so well... Paitence. I will doing my first doll head to pratice. I have to get used to the right needle... Ty it so helped with ur calming voice...
Q- I purchased an unpainted Reborn Doll, the body is Vinyl too, the arms and legs are attached to the body, the head isn’t attached to the body, should I take the arms and legs off the body as I am not sure what to do thank you Roxana Sone
MiracleBabiesNursery annette see after you root one hair how do you stop the rest of the hair your holding from getting tangled up? And do you work above the rooting you have already done or below thanx for replying ✌🏼
What is the best tool to use for rooting hair that is fairly short for a newborn boy...blonde. I don't want it to get snarled and tangled when using a little hat or cap. My daughter wants her doll to have very fine hair but so that it's not long. I have been trying to figure out what size needle tool to use...and type of mohair...any help would be appreciated.
Emily Moorhouse thanks for your comment. As you push the hair the the vinyl acts like a poor on our skin and it closes aroundbthe hair folical. You will still have some loss of hair but nothing major. After you are completely finished Rooting you will glue it in place inside the head. Dont use super glue, I use a paint called Gel Glue. Its, quick to dry, and is water resistant so it can handle a small hair wash. And its slightly flexible so wont stiffen up the head.
A friend ask me to undo the rooting cuz she don't like it. How can I do with the glue inside the head? After that, I think it will be more easier to take off the hairs.
+max glover well if your after super cheap then go for Byron ( like in this video ) Emma or Claire. Caleb, Maisie and Rosebud are a little bigger but also well priced. i do sell them if your interested.
can you make a tutorial on how to reroot a reborns head? How to go about removing the old hair without damaging the kit. Do you use the same holes. What can be done to shrink old holes etc.
Wow! Thank you so so much for this. I have NEVER done this before and so I'm terrified lol. I have really enjoyed watching this and have done so twice already. thank you. Hoping I can brave it soon.
Anette Hello, I would like to ask, how do you like working with forked needles? I wanted to try it and ordered it but when I got it it had no fork and no barbs, I ordered it from hunnybuns here in the US and I am very disappointed. Do you like working with forked needles and if not, why? I just want to know if it's even worth ordering somewhere else. Thank you.
So I just ordered my first reborn but she's preemie getting her bald because I feel like too expensive rooting but if I root it on my own will it be cheaper?
This was the best rooting video I've seen! How do u glue the hair though, do that when u root it the hair doesn't fall out? And what glue can u use? Can u use superglue?
oh my this so so sweet. I love it u really do a beatiful.ty.can u tell me how much mohair I would need for a 9 inch head.ty and where to buy the tool. God Bless.
I love this video, love the way to show how to root the hair in different directions..but why do all that work to root his hair, but still make it so thin looking?
Thank you so much Annette! Getting closer to the camera really helped me to see the demonstration a lot better. It was kind of confusing watching other videos about hair rooting because they would draw it in the directions and stuff that they needed to be but it looked confusing yours looks a lot easier thank you I'm a little bit more confident now 😂
I would love to make one someday. what size kit would be good for a real newborn size doll? also do you have to use glass beads to weight it or can you substitute something like rice etc...?
LittlePixie Glass beads work best. Don't out any food products or sand in your babies. The food profits can mold if the baby accidentally get wet and I've seen people who have gotten there reborns damaged by bugs because of food products. And with sand, it can leak out of the joints and make a mess. Because of high altitudes, they cannot be shipped overseas and sand is just not a good thing
I have been searching for the answer to mapping out heads, not understanding the purpose of it since I learned the needle is to always be pointed in the direction of the swirl at the top corner. I finally understand! Thank you so much for sharing! 😊🌸💕
Thanks so much for watching. The mushroom tool is normally called a Deluxe Rooting Tool or Mushroom Rooting Tool. I have 2 due in stock next week at www.aussierebornsupplies.com.au
I see your using the mushroom tool but what kind of rooting needle are you using? What is the number? Is it a regular or crown etc? I usually root with human hair because I have a lot of trouble finding the right needle for mohair.
Thats just a fact of Reborning, somtimes a needle may last a few heads but in general there is alot of pressure working on the shalf of the needle and therefore it forms weak points which will break. Over time you will get better at it but sometimes we all still have a needle break quickly. Just take your time, work slowly and push the needle in very straight, the slightest bend will snap the needle.
Could you share the kind of gel glue you use? I am working a reborn in my own collection that needs hair first time doing this really nervous want to buy the right kind of glue
Can I use a Reborn Baby rerooting tool to re-root a Barbie doll? I've found a Reborn Doll hair rooting tool on Amazon, and all the other rerooting tools on amazon are rubbish.
Do u white ppl rub cotton with breast milk on new born baby forehead chin upper lips to remove extra baby hair if they have Or u dont do anything they just clear automatically Help me out plz My son have some baby hair in his forehead what shall i do it looks weird
+Tulc Jagir lmfao. you dont do anything. This is one of the strangest questions I have heard about newborn care. lol. Those baby hairs will likely disappear as the baby gets older. Don't worry about things or trying to change the way your baby looks. love him or her as the way they were born. There is a lot of change that happens from birth to toddler years and so on and your baby will look completely different every month as they grow and change. you should not be trying or worried about making the baby look how you want him to. Besides this video is about rooting doll hair on a reborn DOLL not real babies. I am sure you realized everything i just said as I can see now that this question is old but i just had to say something
why does ever one keep putting the swirl way on the side of the head instead of more to the center and up towards the top of the head? where many if not most hare it.
Hello. I realize this is an older video, but if you happen to see my comment, could you please tell me if you use 40g 1barb rooting tool for all sized heads??Thank you. God Bless. :)
Thanks for the reply. Would you share size needles for diff. sized heads? Also, in your honest of hearts opinion do you feel theLuminaire paints are better than what you were using?
#Annette i need some advice while rooting with the lamp,I've glued the patch of mohair so it didn't come put when rooting more,is it #OK to so this?? The glue #wont get ruined or the hair i have already rooted, while i #still use the rooting lamp to finish rooting the rest of the head?? It's working #amazing 👍🏼🙂🤞🏼 i will send you a photo on #Instagram and you can tell me how I'm doing if thats ok with you!! 🤞🏼👶
I can see why the dolls are so expensive. It takes alot of time to make each one of them, not like a factor that has machines that do the work for you.
Totally off subject but that stereo system behind you is incredible! My father had one very similar when I was a young child. It's called a stereo component system and in the 60s 70s 80s these really started to become affordable to the average consumer. These were different than the systems in the 90s because all the components (record player, receiver, tuner, speakers, tape player, etc) were all different. Later in the 90s we even added a 10 disc cd changer to our component system!! Then in the 90s boomboxes were born which was a portable cassette player and radio with its own speakers! Also beginning to replace component stereo systems was a mini stereo system that was stacked and all the "components" were connected. OK I KNOW NO ONE HERE CARES ABOUT MY LITTLE HISTORICAL INFORMATION BUT I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF SO JUST IGNORE ME IF I AM ANNOYING YOU. BTW THANKS FOR THIS DETAILED INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO. I WISH I COULD MAKE THESE DOLLS AND FIND SOMEONE TO TEACH ME LIKE AN APPRENTICE! GOOD DAY!
Hello, what is this needle and the numbering of it, since rooting became very natural, and how many strands are there? How will I know the direction of the swirling wires of the head
I believe that needle was a 40g 1 barb, Took about 2 hairs in at a time unlesss I was more careful I could have got more. The swirl will depend on the way you would like it to go.
Fantastic video! Just found you and will tune in for more for sure. I'm trying to root a head for the first time and can't seem to see at what angle the barb is. A friend lent me 42 size needles and they are so tiny I've already broken two and probably will break more the way I'm going. I don't seem to be picking up hairs despite following all the instructions. Should I buy larger needles? How do you know the angle of the barb?
Thanks for your question. You should angle your needle so its kinda in line with the head itself. Like laying flat against it but not so much that you can't work. I wouldn't stress too much able the needles. Its natural to break them when you first start out, even up to 10 per head even more. Once you get the hang of things you will find you break alot less. I am thinking of doing another rooting video in the coming weeks so stay tuned xo
