Georgi's cancer research may be leading somewhere really good, but I keep hearing him warning against too much fat and about oxidation of fat. Some time ago a confronted Georgi and Danny Roddy about this in a live chat and I made them clarify what they mean when they refer to oxidation of fat, and they admitted they were talking about polyunsaturated fats. I wish they would always made this qualification whenever they talk about this. Very confusing.

When I started bioenergetics, I assumed I was still supposed to be doing full fat meats and dairy, and I did start gaining some weight, LOL, so I just switched to 93/7 ground beef and non-or low-fat dairy-and not to mention that lower fat is better for insulin resistance. Peating makes room for experiments. Good to see you back on Georgi, keep up your brilliant work and don´t forget the importance of elimination part. Ray has said that vit b6 is a replacement of so called "essential pufas" . Also, wish you´d hook up with a team of holistic therapists to make an extreme beneficial way of speeding up healing processes. Ever thought about how maybe something like trauma can make your different senses extremely sensitive, which can maybe work as a double edged sword mechanism? I have.

@@jonthompson1068 I think ppl confuse many who are 'followers' of Ray Peat - with Peat's work. He has some great articles on learned helplessness - a result of trauma which is ultimately what paralyzes us..Although he does not discuss 'trauma' per se. Remember - RP was a physiologist. He is dealing mainly with dietary (although also other factors) like like that affect hormones. You cannot expect one person or one camp to address all of your needs as a human - because we all have different needs. And yes, Peat was not spiritual or into that. I agree it is important - so I get that elsewhere. I don't expect one human to be my guru. and I wouldn't want that ! Then we are in a cult!

- Vitamin B6 is helpful if you have recurring nightmares also. The important thing is the TYPE of the vitamin itself. You have to take P5P type - Vitamin B1 is essential if you have fatty liver or alcoholic which in turn will give you fatty liver. Even regular doctors know this. My brother was an alcoholic and in the healing process his doctor prescribed him some B1. Again the TYPE is important. You have to take either BENFOTHIAMINE or just THIAMINE from the brand Thiamax. Thiamine will also help with motility if you have constipation.

I'm so confused. I've listened to Georgi for a long time, he is brilliant and I respect him. Negative is that he promotes use of pharmaceuticals and supplements - which I've been trying to stay away from. The carnivores/high fat (saturated) people seem to be getting such amazing results, especially with weight loss. Although most seem to start from being very overweight, so I suspect they are in a calorie deficit. But I hear about all this mental clarity, mental illnesses cured. Also, there is Dr. Kiltz who claims to be curing infertility with carnivore diets. Seems to me a common thread could be discontinuing the seed oils. I've been trying carnivore/ketovore and don't feel good at all and have little energy. I am eating a lot and have gained unwanted weight. Not sure what to do now. Seems like no seed oils, (PUFAs) , sunshine and joy are the common denominators!

@scoobydadog246 2 месяца назад
@@fedegroxo That is true. I'm now beginning to think that there are individual differences. It struck me that most people who do well on Carnivore/ very low carb have 1) broken metabolism (there are the exceptions like Dr. Chaffee - who started the carnivore young, and is a young very muscular, athletic man). Because their glucose metabolism is not efficient, they do much better metabolizing fat. The people I'm observing not doing well on carnivore/uber low fat are people who started with a decent metabolism, including glucose. That was me. I was trying it for GI issues.. but I was already thin, and had good labs - i.e lipids, AiC , glucose. It does seem like in this case, carbs aren't bad. I don't know what the answer is anymore.
@luizfe
@luizfe 2 месяца назад
@scoobydadog246 have you tried carnivore with 20% protein 80% fat? They say It IS better, or/and try carnivore with more collagenous foods. If even with these you still got recurring problems, start adding carbs from fruits, raw honey and even some Juice and sugar after a While and see If It gets better. But Also remember, diet IS not ALL about health. A good Life with purpose and without bother IS more important. Go for a walk in Nature, meditate, do deep breaths, know when to Go to bed and rest/recover You can Also be with toxic metals, worms, etc

Thanks for this tip! Regarding metabolic rate, Georgi despite his knowladge, doesnt seem to follow Peat's discoveries. So I Wonder what his diet looks like :) . Also I reduced carbs Just by not eating things that contain gluten and my weight dropped. I "aspire" more towards keto with fruites, gelatin and milk, because there is a lot of people who follow it and combat their obesity and other problems. I think it is really good idea to combine those two attitudes. Thanks Girls for this interview, so inspiring!

I can see in comparing your older videos to present videos that you faces are more full but has there been an increase or decrease in muscle mass and body fat along with this new lifestyle or do you prefer not to test and rely on how much better you feel? @greyone308
@greyone308 3 месяца назад
Egg yolk fat is about 46% oleic acid, an omega-9 monounsaturated fat, 38% saturated fat, and 16% polyunsaturated fats . The PUFA ratio depends on how the chickens were raised. If you raise a chicken on grain feed, it has no choice but to be full of PUFA. If raised on fruits, bugs and coconuts, no PUFAs. Same with chicken meat and pig meat. Egg yellows are highly nutrient dense, but you might wanna avoid the egg whites, there are four toxins in egg whites.

Not sure that I agree that one is going to have a palpable effect every time they take a supplement, and if they don't feel that effect, that it is not necessary to take it. Many supplements have sub-clinical effects that are not noticeable, yet are still beneficial to optimizing levels in the body, or working as protective nutrients in complex systems in the body. Georgi still has some of that Ray Peat mentality that is perverse to what some of the science shows, and why Ray often threw the baby out with the bath water on many valuable nutrients and compounds. Having said that, I think it is good to pulse dose, rotate, or take breaks from things {even food}, since the body gets acclimated and tends to attenuate the response to things.

There's only one big thing on the list that I think you and Georgi missed..... high iron. High iron is associated with pretty much every degenerative disease, including cancer, diabetes and heart disease, and iron lowering strategies in those with high or even the so called "High Normal" iron to near deficiency levels reduces the incidence of those diseases, and also improved glucose utilization. And thanks to "iron fortification," it's a much bigger problem, especially if you eat grains like wheat or rice, or take iron containing vitamins. This is one that seems to get overlooked so often in the bioenergetic and alternative health spheres, but is cheap and easy to detect, as is treatment if iron is high.

Do not recommend going out of your way to add Omega 3s

I have a low level understanding of the prometabolic perspective on Omega 3 and B1. I have pretty agonizing skin problems that have only gotten worse since going prometabolic and even supplementing with mega doses of B1 (around 1g) hasn't helped. I recently tried adding Omega 3 and it's been giving me some much needed relief. ... I'm just gonna do what works and try to learn better as I go. Didn't Dr Knobbe say on your show that he's a big fan of Omega 3?

In my 70’s low carb or keto for 10 years. I had none of these things. I walked 5 miles, worked out. Active, worked. No fatigue. Good digestion. But I under ate to a scary degree. I’m eating more the last 8 months with lots of fruit. Basically keto (less fat) and fruit as I test what works for me.

@@TravisTellsTruthsit’s not keto. Jay Feldman calls a plan to get off keto and low carb by eating keto like protein with fruit to cycle off low carb. My slow added carbs are mostly fruit. Not as much fat though. I’m familiar with keto foods and then I’m adding fruit slowly. No starches and limited dairy but I will add those slowly. I found I can’t do milk. Only yogurt and cheese. It’s testing my tolerances and food that agrees with me. It’s felt good. Cheers. I’m a dudette. 😀

Not sure to agree on his protein intake advice !! To his knowledge if an old women is 50kg then she should aim for 50g protein makes no sense. to activate muscle protein synthesis you must reach a minimal ammount of Leucine which is in fact around 25g protein per meal Plus, The older you get the harder it is to activate muscle protein synthesis by which an old person would need about two times the ammount of a 20 year old intake to equal the same response and neither did we discuss the protein absorbtion rate of the food you ate
@PeaceIsYeshua
@PeaceIsYeshua 3 месяца назад
Thanks for sharing! I just did a quick search online and it looks like the 25 g per meal (or 3-4 g leucine) is specifically recommended for the elderly in order to build muscle, so perhaps younger people can get away with less than 25 g per meal? Thank you for bringing this up, as it makes me think I should be getting a little bit more protein at each meal, as I am mid 40s and wanting to build more muscle.

Well then eat two protein meals a day. You need to hit this leucine threshold once maybe twice a day.

I hear biochemists talking at a level that I do not understand and have no desire to learn enough about biochemistry to understand. I'm already busy. If yall say how many aspirin per day that a 180 pound man should take, I do not hear it -- and what links should I click on to buy the products that will accomplish what yall are proposing? I've heard enough of Georgi to be fully convinced that I want to follow his protocols. All I needed was Mercola's endorsement, and he strongly endorsed him a couple of years ago. The Mercola interview along with a couple of RU-vid channels completely changed my diet at that time. I'm taking one aspirin a day and the Mercola vitamin B complex -- and have no idea from this long conversation if I should tweak that
@cammieklund

It is overly complicated, yes. An aspirin a day is good. But dissolve it in water and don't drink the residue if the aspirin has added crap in it. Danny Roddy has a video on how to safely take aspirin. Not sure about the B vit yet.

I wish Georgi would answer this. He says cancer is metabolizing fat instead of sugar but a pet scan uses radioactive glucose to locate cancer ...how do you explain that?
@scoobydadog246
@scoobydadog246 2 месяца назад
I highly doubt he said that , although I didn't go back and listen; but I've heard him talk about CA metabolism many times, so know he does not believe that. Cancer cells cannot use fat, nor can they use glucose PROPERLY, but only do glycolysis, the first step, which is more primitive. Normally then glucose (and fats) are processed in the mitochondria via oxidative metabolism. The end product of glycolysis is lactate/lactic acid, which then builds up. So yes, the PET scan will locate CA cells based on the higher rate of glycolysis. Many say cancer 'thrives on sugar', assuming sugar is 'feeding' the cancer, but it's really that CA can't process the sugar properly, and produces too much lactic acid.
@marlenecampbell5439
@marlenecampbell5439 2 месяца назад
He said that drugs that block lipolysis like insulin and meldonium forces the cells to use glucose. He said cancer is like diabetes type 1 and is oxidizing fat right in the beginning....
