I believe same rule applies with other Jag models XE, XF, F-pace etc.

I looked and there is no place on the 2011 XF in the engine bay for jumping the battery.

@@TowMan127 - I looked at my 2011 XF and there is no place in the engine bay to jump the battery. Can you confirm please.

@@anthonyash3103 not sure how to confirm it but check the fuse box. They usually have a thick red wire at the end of it that leads to the main battery in the trunk. You can put power to it then open the trunk and get to the vehicles battery to jump it.

Tim - looked in the engine bay of my 2011 XF and there seems to be No Place indicated to jump. Can you confirm it has to be done at the battery in the trunk. Thanks in advance.

The little key hole on my door handle is blocked by a little plastic piece probably got to hire a locksmith

You have to put the key in that hole to pop it out. Might have to use one hand on the handle cause the handle sometimes holds that cover in place

@@TowMan127 I used a flat head screw driver and popped off the little piece but the last time the car had power I locked the doors so when I tried to 'jump' the trunk open as soon as I connected the cables the alarm wouldn't stop going off do you know if there is an emergency trunk release somewhere in the car?

Not sure about a release in the vehicle. If the alarm turns on you can either shut it off with the key fob or try using the key to lock and unlock the door and it should shut the alarm. If you open the hood you can connect a jump pack or jumper cables to either start the vehicle or give the vehicle power to open the trunk.

@@TowMan127 Yeah so my battery went completely dead doors were locked with the key fob but i got into the car with the physical key that's in the fob popped the hood and did what your video said to do but as soon as I connected the cables the alarm wouldn't stop until I disconnected the cables it's the secondary alarm activating I'm sure it's a anti theft thing any ideas how to get in the trunk? Everything I have read says not to jump start the car from under the hood

@@fall-out when you put the cables on the front have you tried using the key fob or the actual key in the door to disable the alarm? If there’s no key hole in the trunk lid you might be able to fold the rear seats down and use the emergency trunk lid handle in the trunk and it will open the trunk.
