How to unlock car door with child safety lock on

If your car door handle is broke and the Child Safety Lock is on this is a video showing you how to open the door. This is a 2007 Kia Spectra the method used in this video should work on any door handle similar to this one...

Omg thank you!!!! Lol my Grandson was playing with the door that already had the broken handle & put the child lock on & couldn't open from either side... Just went to replace it & realized I had to have the door open to put the new handle on🤦🏽‍♀️your video saved me .. I took a wire bent a lil hook & literally pulled the door open in less than a minute. 🎉

Thanks, man! I accidentally locked the child safe when I forgot the handle was broken and paid $80 to get it open...then a week later my 4yo son locked it! Ugh, not paying again when we still have to get the handle fixed anyway. So THANK YOU!

excellent video! my kia sorento door was stuck for a long time, could not even get the company to fix it. when I opened the rear handle there was no white knob like the video but the cable was right in front...just used an allen key and pulled...voila the door opened and child lock was then put back open. now I have to buy a new handle and install it...DIY ftw!! thanks for the vid...

Thanks for the tip about unlocking the child lock from the inside. I have an issue where the hook holding to the outside handle came off and the child lock was on. I was able to use a screw driver to push the child lock to the unlock position. Now for the fun of taking the door apart to fix the outside handle.

My kids have been jumping over for to long now cuz both of my back door handles broke wich is crazy and it’s so easy to open on my car with just a finger wich I feel so dumb about now thank you made my life easier 😅 and less stressful and I only looked it up cuz my kids activated the child lock on one side

I had this happen to me on a Hyundai accent , I needed to snap the bottom of the exterior handle out and pulled down on the handle which released the door. since the piece you used with the hanger was still attached to the handle but non functional. be sure to purchase a new handle before you do this.
