Zero volume keywords, as they're called, are very misleading - as many of them are not truly "zero volume" and in fact can bring in hundreds - even thousands - of clicks through Google search! But not all low volume keywords are created equal - in this video, I walk you through what zero and low volume keywords are, why they're important, which types to target, and where to find them.

New sub Corrie. Great stuff on the zero volume techniques. Just getting into both KW's Everywhere and LowFruits. Also have KW Cluster but haven't gotten to that yet. Just came across your videos and they are amazing! incredibly informative. Just one thing I'm a little confused about. I have a home decor blog and I keep coming across words that have "shopping sites" on the first page. should I stay away from those or try to do a longer tailed word?

I'm glad you found my vids informative! It depends on the keyword you're targeting and the user intent of that keyword. I would target longtail keywords with a "pre-purchase" user intent, where the user is in the "research" stage of the purchase and are looking for reviews or genuine feedback on a product before they buy. (these phrases usually start with the word "best" like "best throw pillows for couch" for example.) Some products may still show at the top under the sponsored/shopping section but as the user is in the pre-purchase phase, they are more likely to scroll down to the blog posts. Hope that helps!

Longtail keywords are commonly tied to shorter versions with higher volume. Sometimes you can rank for both, but normally if you're targeting the long tail keyword its because you don't have the site authority to target the shorter phrase with higher volume, so you're gearing your blog post to scoop up the more specific searches by answering that particular inquiry best. Competitor analysis is key for determining which term to target.

Though the video is good and very well presented, the metric evaluation - “pageviews” is not appropriate for judging the organic performance of a zero search volume keyword. Pageviews determine the total number of views on the page, internal navigation as well as landing page traffic. Without a doubt, the topic is trending - hence the pageviews. However, I am still not convinced that this zero search volume keywords strategy performs as per the efforts required.

Yes! All my posts are monetized with display ads and the ones with commercial intent (eg. "10 best xyz") also make money through Amazon Associates. 😊

I recommend using GPT-4 as the quality of the outputs is vastly superior. You may use fewer credits with 3.5 but if you don't end up using the outputs, it is a waste.

To clarify, most of these articles bring in traffic through *multiple* low-volume, long tail keywords. The nice thing is that once you rank for one, you tend to rank for tons of variations on that phrase as well - Not to mention this report doesn't show the clicks that are coming in from higher volume keywords.
