The video teaches all the steps and tools required to unrestrict and free up all the available power of a Kawasaki Vulcan.
Kawasaki restricts most of its Vulcan S model, cutting power or throttle availability specially in European countries since the bike is considered a beginners bike.
If you want to have available of its potential you will have to go straight to the dealer and to pay a hefty bill for quite a simple job if you know what you are looking for.
The video show step by step tutorial on how to unrestrict the bike and some test drives after each change to show you how much the bike can be when running free of any hurdles.
Have fun riding and be safe always. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask
Thanks for watching the Zaska Channel.

Your motorbike doesn't have ECU restriction. If it did have an ECU restriction, you would have loop wire on that connector, which you suppose to cut. Your motorbike has dummy plug that serve only as a weather protection. Only Australian models (that I am aware of) have both ECU and throttle restriction.
@nathangarciamuro
@nathangarciamuro 4 года назад
Correct. I found out at a later stage. I remove the plug to install a gear indicator which is another video in the channel. However, it is good to check the plug in case there’s is a ECU restriction. Here in Spain, the 2018 onwards I believe the restrictions are done in the ECU itself without any mechanical mechanism so the o my way to unrestrict the bike is via the dealership. Thanks for the comment.

It is easy to do and you will see the difference. By the way, the seats I got them customized here in Spain. They got extra puffing (special gel) so they are doubled in size of the stock ones. I would highly recommend to get them redone by a specialist or purchase special ones since the stock one is terrible.

CarlosAO Houston thanks for the comment. The 2017 bikes are harder to unrestrict but if you are in the US they might not be restricted, I would ask the dealer. The restrictions are more common in Europe since restrictions means more taxes and fees and Europe loves to tax their people.

Thank you, sir for your helpful video. I am commenting it hoping that somebody on your channel professionally advises me on how to de-restrict newer model (without referring to my dealer). I have Kawasaki Vulcan S 2018. It DOES NOT HAVE a THROTTLE LIMITING KNOB but DOES HAVE the ENGINE CIRCUIT BYPASS PLUG. My Vulcan S jerked while riding below 2000 RPM with the plug. I also could not exceed approx. 130 km/h (80 mph). I removed the plug after break-in period. Are there any other steps to complete de-restriction? I haven't measured the max speed yet but behavior below 2000 RPM is much better now. Thanks in advance.

@skeptic3332
@skeptic3332 Год назад
The removal of the throttle stop was great, well done. The 2nd part though actually may harm your bike. That Sir is the OBD II connector for shop diagnostics. What you removed was a weather proof cap that also ties the two grounds together so you don't have a floating ground in your ECU. Now that you do have a floating ground by removing the cap you can expect a range of random and intermittent prolblems that will drive you mad. You should put the cap back on.

@nathangarciamuro
@nathangarciamuro 4 года назад
Avner Neeman my Vulcan S is based on a Ninja 650 so most probable it can be done. My recommendation is to look if you have the acceleration knob limit. If you have go ahead and take it out as I explained in the video. However, Kawasaki introduced the computer restriction after the 2017 model so you might be unlucky and need to go to a dealer.

@mrandrewwong1712 5 лет назад
Hey. Would you happen to know if it's the same for the z650
@nathangarciamuro
@nathangarciamuro 5 лет назад
I would think so since the z650 uses the same diagnostic port to connect the Gear Indicator. But beware, my Vulcan is a 2016 model, the 2017 onwards are computer restricted and only the dealers can unrestrict. What I would do is to follow the throttle cable to see if it stops by a screw or little knob. The Vulcsn S 650 uses lots of the z650 designs so I would say the restriction design is the same as this video.

@@nathangarciamuro Sadly, in Israel, if you have a restricted bike, then the first thing they check if you have an accident, is if it has been messed with. If it has then you are responsible for all damages of everyone and you lose your licence. So not worth it.

@kalifighter79

Why are they restricted in the first place?
@nathangarciamuro
@nathangarciamuro 2 года назад
Because in Europe, specially in Spain, there are two types of motorcycle license, A2 and A1. A2 is for bikes with 45 HP or less. Ir is mandatory to pass the A2 exam and ride for 2 years before you try to get the A1. Therefore to sell more bike and appeal to the young market then they restrict the bike from 61 to 45 HP so people like me can ride. :-)
