How to Unzip Files in Windows 10

If you are using Windows 10, this should work just fine unless you installed another unzipping application like WinZip. I know of a few that reported trouble unzipping using WinZip. After uninstalling WinZip, it worked just fine. I also use another unzipping program called 7-ZIP software, but you do not need one with Windows 10. I do not have Winzip. For some reason, after folks install WinZip, it takes away the "Extract All" option from the Windows menu when right-clicking. I zip the files just using Windows 10. When you install Winzip or an other unzipping application, it may take away the Extract All option. If you are truly using Windows 10, it should be there. If it is not, then you would have to uninstall all 3rd party unzipping applications like Winzip. Since you paid for Winzip, maybe you should just use that. If you search that error on the Internet, you will find a lot of potential solutions. There are a number of potential causes. Based what I am reading, it has to do with something on your computer. SInce there are entire articles on this subject, I would suggest just searching the error via Google. Good luck.

Austin, sometimes the Extract All will not be there if you installed another extraction software such as WinZip. For some reason, after folks install WinZip, it takes away the "Extract All" option from the Windows menu when right-clicking. I unzip the files just using Windows 10. Of course, I do not know what you have installed, so I would just check to see if there is another third-party unzipping app installed on your Windows. I am not sure what kind of file it is, but it is possible the zipped file is corrupted. I would contact the person/website you got the file from. Quck google of the error indicates it is something beyond unzipping. Good luck. Usually, if you are unable to unzip via these directions. you may have installed a third-party unzipping program. You can usually google the exact wording of the message to find out the potential offending software. Many people install Winzip because historically older versions of Windows did not include the unzipping ability. Most common one I see is Winzip, although it could be another causing the issue.

What do you see when you right-click on a ZIP File? What other options? If you have Windows 10, it is built-in. In my experience, the people that have trouble finding this are often those that have installed a third-party unzipping application such as WinZip.

Since it can be a number of things, all related to your computer, I would suggest you google ""Extract All missing from context menu" or "Extract All missing from Windows 10" and you will see what I mean. Good luck.

You should, but if you install a third party unzipping application like WinZip, it sometimes overrides the built-in Windows feature. This is the most common culprit. Uninstalling WinZip or other similar software restores the feature, if that is the issue. Google "missing extract all Windows 10" and you will see.

Those options are standard for Windows 10 and are built in functions to the operating system. I googled this issue and found others with similar issue. It usually occurs when there is another unzipping application installed that removed that feature, like Winzip. I guess it comes preloaded on some computers. I would check that and uninstall if you have it.

That is an issue with your Windows. Just google the error and I found a bunch of potential solutions. There is not just one. Sometimes it is a permissions issue.
