@@AlexTimm nope. Still doesn't work. It says it worked on my laptop putting it on SD card but when I put SD cars into garmin 106sv nothing happens. I would seriously pay someone to put echomap update on SD card and mail it to me.
Would have been nice for you to explain which card and slot to use, and how long each step took. Then a guy would know approximately how long the whole process would take before starting.
After downlead completed I dont see GarminDevice.xlm inside the garmin folder ...I had tried several times in my 7610 xsv and doenst pup up update..units ( I have two) still on 2020 version
The GarminDevice.xml file should show up on your SD card after you had it inserted into your chartplotter. If you recently formatted the card and haven't re-inserted it and powered the device on yet that is likely why
I haven't had an issue installing software updates before this one. I have a GPSMAP 1242xsv. Last update was 21.00 last December. So I've tried 3 times with the download, extract and Copy2Card to my SD card. Twice to a standard size 32gb card and the 3rd on a Micro SD 32gb card in an Adapter. I power on the unit then insert the card and it gets recognized as Managed Card Data Slot 1, or 2 depending which one I insert. I am NOT getting anything else below it nor Software updates box at the top. What gives?
@Alex Timm Whoo hoo I got it to work! All I did differently was did a complete format of the SD card (took a while to complete) and once I did the Copy2Card exe file it brought up a Wizard and directed the location to the SD card. I didn't get that step before. My unit is all updated now. Thanks for your replies!
I've been in IT / PC's / Networks / Software Deveopment all my life. THIS SOFTWARE is the WORST I've EVER USED. I've NEVER seen anything this f'd up for a user community in my life. What a shame. GARMIN needs to WAKE UP!
True. The most unintuitive software to work with. Same with Active Captain. Used their car GPS for years and years and it always was simple and quick to use….not the case with fishfinder soft.
